Tastebuds, Tongues and Techniques?

Would love to see some pics of inside your babies mouths please.

What are the best techniques for creating taste buds?

How and what color to use in what parts of the mouth.

Which mediums are the best for realism?

Edit: I posted this in the wrong section didn’t I :weary:

Where you posted it is fine. I don’t think I’ve ever even looked to see what category a question is in.

Pictures dont capture it well for me…

I used thinning medium (ghsp) now I am out and need to find a new heat set product that isnt white to start…

I use pink and purples in different tones. I make the tongue darker than the lips, and the mouth area darker than the tongue. I do them in thin layers, etc. You can also do thin washes of red and blues.

I do not have a set way of painting and just go with it as I paint. So I can not tell you what colors or how many layers, etc. Sorry

If I want a pop of color for taste buds I will use a spread out brush and pounce red spots onto the tongue then press a wedge on it to blend it out a little.
I have never used texture on the tongue or spit bubbles

Here are my open mouth, tongue out babies

I’ve only ever done it once.
I used Ultimate Fusion and Golden products on her, I was so happy with the UF 3D Dewy Skin to create the taste buds. I didn’t add any color to the taste buds, that’s how they looked when they dried. They feel textured which is cool. I still need to reroot her and take better pics but this shows her mouth.

So does the 3d medium bead like that or do you need to shape it into a bead like the nail stuff that people shape into petals and stuff.?

Love the texture and you even got the centre part right, where it goes lighter. Wow just wow!

I applied it with a toothpick or broken rooting needle, I don’t remember. The little dots just stayed how I applied them, no I didn’t shape them. It was similar to how people make baby milia.
