Strange Question: Sanitizing

I am seeking some advice - I recently rescued two kittens. Unknown to me they had ringworm :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Fortunately they were quarantined from my other cats and so far no one else has gotten it. The kittens were treated with meds at my vets office and were given the all clear! :tada:

I sanitized the room they were in with a special fogger and vet grade sanitizer (Rescue) that will kill ringworm.

Unfortunately one of my reborn toddlers (painted with GHS) was out there. I’m scared to sanitize her for fear of harming her paint. She is sealed but still… I know Lysol kills it so I might go that route and just hope for the best. But ringworm spores live for up to two years - I need to get her cleaned up.

I know it’s a long shot but has anyone else ever had experience with this? Lol :joy:

I read online that high heat over 110F will kill it. Maybe take your dolls apart and heat the vinyl parts in your NuWave oven and wash all the cloth parts and clothing?

I use Lysol wipes to clean my bathroom. It takes off everything and leaves it sparkling clean. I wouldn’t use it on a reborn. You might be able to use a disinfecting spray and not rub it, just let it evaporate. I’d do what @anjsmiles said if the doll is painted with heat set. Safer than taking a chance with paint coming off.

I wouldn’t bother to take it apart… 110° is not going to do any damage if left assembled.

@pia Can you bake the joints and polypellets?

110° won’t hurt them…

That would be awesome!

that is assuming you have an oven big enough to put the whole baby in that is not your cooking oven. I would not put it in my cooking oven.
