I just ordered a Laila seconds kit! I’ll be doing it in steps. So next week I’ll get the starter kit
I find the 20"- 21" kits fit into newborn better than the 18". It really is addictive so figure on buying seconds kit after seconds kit. I used air dry for years, then genesis, and lately a combination of genesis and air dry. Probably cheaper to buy the paints, a seconds kit and go from there. Ruby Red mohair has a bad rap, it isn’t good but ok for first dolls and seeing if you have the patience to root. Mostly just relax, have fun and chat. As for the tutorials, it depends o how you learn. I do better with written instructions. Others like video. Do not try a complicated, long tutorial to start! Otherwise you may get frustrated. Remember this is supposed to be fun! And if you need help, need to vent, need to brag, we are all ears!
So you think it’s better to just buy paints and things separately than the starter kit?
I was thinking that would probably be cheaper
Also, is there any way to use my normal oven for my first kit to see if I like it before buying a nuwave?
If you use your regular oven, you need to use a separate oven thermometer inside to verify that it is 265 F before putting the kit in. AND you must clean your oven thoroughly after baking parts before baking food as it can go in your food which is not good. GHSP is not toxic but this mixed with the vinyl and Mona Lisa thinner causes a thick sticky film to build up and creates fumes when baking.
I’d buy kits that are for sale on the BB homepage, good deals!
If I don’t get the starter kit, what paints do I need to start our? GHS
Thank you!
What a pretty dress that is too!
I use Air Dry so I can’t help with what you need, but if it says Prisma they must be them, lol!
That’s for like, hair and brows right?

The ones I use are Prisma Premier.
Also I should get the Mina Lisa paint thinner?
What paints are you using?
Genesis. I’m buying everything in pieces!
Mona Lisa will work though I think some people use mineral spirits also.Mona Lisa is probably the more used one.
