I give birth to heavier babies, and holding a 5 pound reborn doll just feels so light weight to me. I really prefer them much heavier. Anyone else who prefers them to weigh more? When I start selling I’ll probably weigh them around 5 pounds since that seems standard, but if they are for me they are going to be heavier:)
All my babies were 6 pounds and under. So Dolls about 4.5 to 5 pounds seem normal to me. LOL
Any more and they seem too heavy for their size. Funny the way different life experiences change the way we think/feel.
My children were around 6 lbs too. I would let everyone hold them cause I thought they were heavy, lol. I like the babies around 5 lbs more or less. Of course the older the heavier.
All my babies were solid. 7 lbs 15.5 ozs, 2 were 10lbs 11ozs and the last was 9 and a half pounds. I weigh mine to feel solid. Not that heavy but enough to be able to feel them.
My smallest was 6.8pounds, but the rest were between 8-10 pounds. The five pound dolls feel weighted when I first lift them, but the feel of the weight seems to ‘disappear’ quickly.
I ALWAYS weight my babies heavy!! Heavy and floppy…for newborn size anyway
I had big babies in real life so I like them a little heavier, maybe like 6-7 pounds, but depending on the size of the baby. I like them to feel substantial, but I’m not as extreme as one collector I know who had her baby weighted to be 12 pounds!
I like heavier dolls too. They just feel so nice when you’re holding them.
I like heavier reborn babies too! I like my babies nice and chubby! Two of my Reborns in my collection weigh 9 lbs. 5 lbs does feel really light.
I laughed out loud at this. So funny…
AMEN! Yes, I prefer heavier babies 5lbs or more. It does feel right to have a more realistic weight. I know some people prefer light babies…NOT MEEEE!!! Lol
Yes, I prefer a heavier baby too. I try to get them as heavy as I can without being overly heavy.
I like them realistically heavy for size but there are shipping costs to consider. A 4 1/2-5 lb baby costs a lot less than a 10 lb one.
