Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice from those with experience working with realborn silicone kits.
Two of my unpainted silicone Realborn kits (sarah and Isabelle
was accidentally left in direct sunlight for about five days while in transit. The box was not wet, but it was exposed to the sun for an extended period.
In your experience, is this likely to cause any permanent damage to the silicone? Are there any specific issues I should look for when I receive the kit, such as oil seepage, discoloration, stickiness, warping, or changes in texture?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with something similar.
Thank you!

I am new to silicone, but i am sure that heat will not effect it because we use heat gun to cure it or some artists bake it in the oven.
I had not much luck with the only BB kit that I painted anyway - paint was nor sticking to hand and feet on my Darren.
All other kirs that i used from private producers didn’t have that problem.
No, the sun will not hurt them. Especially since they were still in the box and not getting direct UV light. The concern with sunlight is once the baby is painted. The UV rays can cause pigments to fade in any paint system. That is when direct sunlight can become an issue and even that is over time.
Silicone is very durable. I had one full body silicone to arrive in a package that was soaking wet and falling apart. This was a few years ago. The FedEx guy stood here and watched me open it per my request to be sure it was OK. He said they had flooding at the warehouse from all the rains and many packages got wet. I had to warn him what he was about to see as I know some people freak out over these dolls. It was my Cookie blank. Thankfully, she was completely wrapped up in plastic wrap and not wet at all. Of course, it was as I suspected that the delivery guy was giving me the side eye as to what in the world I was opening up when he saw it!
