Umm. Hi. I’m new here and to the reborn mommy baby life. My daughter and I finally have come to the ages of enjoying dolls lol. Me late in life her sorta late. She’s ten. Never liked dolls until recently. I believe it to be due to the reborn realistic look of the babies we happened across late last year via YouTube and the sculptor who’s YouTube name is nlovewith… I’ll leave it at that. I love her work. Her hands are so gifted. As are many other sculptors I’ve seen on online. Like Maria L. Fluer bébés nursery. Etc. And the lovely work of an Etsy seller babies yLori. Etc. We don’t know a lotta BIG NAMES Lol. We just know what we know. By her and my searches. Anyway. I’m prattling.
We came here in the forum -hoping its the correct place to post this quest- to find information on bringing home a beautiful baby boy and girl. Preemie sized 15-17” wet and drink. Biracial. I’m dark from South America and the father is from North Carolina and slightly lighter than I. AJ my beautiful daughter is his tone and our KJ he is my complexion. I’d love a reborn that is caramel or hazelnut complexion. Like my handsome nephew. With reddish dark brown hair Like my daughter has. I love all shades of baby but would love our twins to be our complexion family. No offense to anyone.
Basically just wonder if anyone at this show of baby lovelies -I’ve walked the show via another reborn mommy and I think she’s sculptor also maybe?; YouTube name is life with krystle- has created and shown silicone babies? And if so is there a way to get into contact with these beautiful baby makers?
I apologize if this isn’t the proper place to or appropriate way to ask this.
Thanks from MommySy32 and AJ10(&kj4 Lol. Can’t forget my Lil man) !!
I hope you find what you seek. Just wanted to mention that silicone babies, while so beautiful and precious, are thousands of dollars if you expect to get a quality doll. One that will last. You may already know that, but I just wanted to mention it. I know when I was searching for a doll, I wanted silicone as well, until I spoke with a lady who knew her business. She told me up front that if I got a quality silicone baby, it would cost me thousands of dollars. I decided then and there that I really didn’t want one, after all… LOLOL Anyway, best of luck with your search.
@Jacelyn5440 hey. Yes thank you. I am aware. And my daughter and I have been going back and forth for for the past few the past few months and just recently made the decision to save up and go ahead with it. She brought up the good point she can pass it on to her little sister to be in the future and keep for her own children as well as family keepsake and heirloom. So internally I’m still churning lol but pretty sure we’ll go in ahead with it. And it’ll be a lot of money but will receive tons of love and care because it’s something we really want and need really. (My profile explains that part).
Again thank you sweets. I appreciate you and your wisdom
@Jacelyn5440 and @Christen and @AnnieSokay thank you all for the information. So excited. My aunt just asked if snyonr can make a toddler full sil lol with armertures -how do you spell that lol. Sorry
You may have a hard time finding everything you are looking for. Only a small number of artists paint silicone dolls as they require an entirely different type of paint and skill set. (Most of us can’t afford to build skill in an artform that can cost upward of $500 for just the blank baby.) They also tend to require much more care than vinyl dolls. They have to be powdered on a regular basis to keep them from becoming shiny and can tear fairly easily. You probably already know that though, as you’ve researched it. Achieving a beautiful ethnic tone also takes quite a bit of practice. Many of us have not mastered that yet. Best of luck in finding your “perfect storm” and getting the baby you are after.
@TrinityCrystal thank you so much for wishing me luck well wishing us luck LOL. Yes it is so difficult to find an artist who does ethnic babies, and does them so beautifully I’ll forget they’re not breathing for real. but I did come across Angela plicka. Her paint her shadowing her coloring are just so absolutely beautiful without doubt what I’m looking for and can’t seem to find a sculpt that she has painted anywhere! LOL
Her work is gorgeous! She’s a prototype artist, so getting one of her babies will be very expensive and you’re likely to have some stiff competition. I don’t know whether she paints silicones though. I think she may be a vinyl artist only.
Angela Plicka is a wonderful lady and her babies are AMAZING!! She usually sells them on ebay to the highest bidder. I too believe she only does vinyl. Silicone dolls are very expensive (for a good one). Also, I would like to say: If you are looking for ANY Reborn/Silicone doll Please, Please, Please do your homework and Research before you purchase to make sure you are NOT BUYING from a SCAMMER site!! There are literally thousands of scammer sites out there and many brokenhearted buyers have been caught up in the Scams!! Remember: If a price is too good to be true–it probably is!!
@lynn yes thank you. I’m aware of the scam sites. I ONLY go str8 to the artists Fb page or website. I’ve seen a lotta too goods lol. And decided personally and for my daughter we need to go directly to the sources lol
@micholc awe thank you I’ll have to check her out now!!
@lynn yea. I’ve been following the ladies on YouTube who bond with their newborn reborn‘s and do box openings. Have been going through their content and listening to some of their advice and a few who urge cautiousness LOL
I do not want for Amira and myself to be scammed or anyone else for that matter. So yea. I’m even hesitant to buy A Drakes partial sils our of some irrational um I guess fear lol. Like that it won’t be what I’m hoping for y’know?
This instagrammer https://instagram.com/rebornsbygrace?igshid=1xmzz0u66ozma is a personal friend of mine, who may be willing to help you find a sculpt you love, and paint it for you! She knows several artists willing to pour silicone kits, and she paints them, I’m not sure how she’s feel about creating an AA silicone, but you might try!
Welcome to the forum.
Most artists here paint vinyl babies, which are cheaper, require less maintenance, and generally hold up better over time if you are looking at something that you hope to become a family heirloom.
Well done vinyls can look as good as as silicone, often much better, in my opinion.
For the price of one nice silicone, you might be able to afford a few excellent vinyl reborns.
There are a few artists here that are branching out into working with silicone, I notice this post is from spring and it’s Christmas time now.
