Scratches

How do you make scratches on the baby?

I’ll share how I do it…many layers to build up a little red spot. This is the irritation around the scratch. Then many layers of reddish and purple paint to build up a little scratch on top of the red spot. Use as many layers as you need till you get a color you are happy with. Use a toothpick to help shape the scratch. You can also use thickening medium to help raise up the scratch. Hope this helps and makes some sense lol

This is also what I do, but I sometimes add a bit of dark reddish brown on the very top to make it look not quite as fresh. I also feather the edges so they look more natural

Typically, I’ll do a deep darker red and add touches of purple and/or brown to look as if it is starting to heal or scab and a bit of red around it.

Do you paint the scratches after everything else is complete on your baby, sorry new here. I have started my first baby.

Yes, I paint the scratches “lastly” during my fine details otherwise it’ll probably get “washed out” with all the many layers.
