I don’t think these people are actually in the market for an art doll and never would be. I AM in the market and yes I fell for a scam and quickly learned. I have since purchased a prototype reborn and another off reborns.com just recently. I have also purchased many kits and supplies to make my own thinking I would save money (fat chance) LOL Still I look forward to my new hobby.
Those are too funny!
I know you can’t stop counterfeit goods but I’ve never seen it so blatantly advertised as seems to be with these dolls with seemingly no way of stamping on it. I mean I can understand individual artists unfairly having their work and pictures stolen/copied but not having enough money, influence or power to be able to do anything about it, but you’d think a huge well known company like Ashton Drake would sue the A55 off of them and get them stopped.
I just don’t understand what makes these dolls so different, there’s loads of knock off Apple products on eBay but they aren’t able to use Apple’s actual items or images to sell them or call them an Ipad, Macbook etc. Other dolls too, there’s heaps of Barbie clones but they aren’t called Barbie or have pictures of Mattel’s own doll to advertise a doll with a vague resemblance but clearly not the real thing. So how can they do it with an artist’s reborn or AD,
probably others too (especially the latter as it’s a company just like Mattel or Apple not a one man band)?
You can’t sue them, they are in China and it’s not illegal there. Maybe they can sue artists that send kit there to be copied, tho.
They use the Lego name, and some others, with slightly different style. But dolls have no brand name, nothing to identify them. It’s easy to use pictures available on internet, even some people do this to sell theirs (often on Etsy).
Unless governments wake up and realized that internet is a world apart and came together to create universal laws on e-commerce, there’s nothing nobody can do.

I try to warn all the time but see it happen anyways.
I’m still getting PMs from people on my scammer warning page who think I’m the one who scammed them. How can this be? My page clearly states it is for exposing the scammers. This woman just wrote me:
I ordered from your website, however shipping is coming from China. What am I getting?
“I ordered from your website, however shipping is coming from China. What am I getting? You are the fake Chinese company. Canceling PayPal order and filing a claim. You are shamefully dishonest and corrupt.”
I keep hoping these confused people won’t try to sic PP or the police on me. I have never scammed anyone in my life and would never want to. Is there a way I can make my page any clearer???
I wrote her back and told her I’m a reborn artist and my page is set up to show what the scammers are doing so people can be aware. She wrote this back to me just now:
“Their payment went to Hong Kong and their link went to this Facebook page.”
So, if I am understanding her correctly, the scammers she purchased from are using my FB page as their contact for those who write them, asking for their money back. UGH!!!
That is just awful!
How much lower and dirty can these scammers be??
How can someone be so …blind (for not saying an other word). That’s strange, how can they be so mixed up ? That’s blow my mind !
It’s absurd.
Don’t be too afraid of them, they will do nothing and intelligent people will see they are wrong.
What’s your Facebook page ?
That is beyond disgusting, I’m so sorry this is happening to you…I bet this new way to use honest folks will catch on with other scammers.
I reconfirmed with her that the scammers are giving out my FB page as their contact page and she wrote:
“I did get my money back and let PayPal know. Yes, the link goes to this Facebook page. A red flag went up when I placed the order and the payment was received in Hong Kong. They were shipping from China within 6 hours of my order. It just made me feel very uneasy.”
My scammer exposing page is:
I hope so. I hate how they know they are dirty, guilty and keep tricking people like this.
She understands now. But, wow, to people make me sweat when they accuse me of being the scammers. She wrote this to tell me who is using my FB page as their contact:
“Their website is rebornshoppe.com and they are using your picture and links. The company name is Custom Information Technology Co, LTD and their customer service link is costomer_service@icustomers.com”
I don’t see your link anywhere on this site. Does she mean your personal page ? Either way, I don’t see it. And why in the world would a scmmer send a link to a anti-scammer page ? She may be a scammer herself and try to discredit you ?
These scammers also appear to be vindictive
I looked and couldn’t see a link to my scam page, either. Nots sure what she meant
From what I’m noticing around fb groups is new people who bought from scam sites are now going on to real artist pages and claiming they are the china scammers.
I’ve seen it happen to multiple individual artist, Ashton drake pages, etc
So chances are your link wasn’t on the scam page. She probably saw the link in a. Group and assumed which alot seem to be doing
