There are tons. Amazon even has blank knock off April for sale. Reported there, on eBay etc and nothing is ever done.
There are a group of artist in Spain that openly and proudly posted they are sending sculpts to a china factory for copy.
My only guess would be the markings. Whether it be the back of the neck or the flange.
Unfortunately tho, it’s not gonna stop much.
As it stands already, from what I’m seeing on FB. Because of these scam sites, people are posting “scam” on real artist posts, pages etc
When someone asks about reborns . Com, everyone screams scam.
Someone posts asking about a artist and several jump to its a scam this is what I ordered vs what I got.
We all know there are hundreds of scam sites and personal scammers for that matter, but one doesn’t make them all bad.
It’s becoming a daily thing that real legitimate sellers and artist are having to defend themselves for zero reason because someone who bought from a scam site decided that all reborn sells on Facebook are scams 🤦
This makes me so angry and that Amazon and eBay do nothing about it.
I think we will have to be very specific about the sizes of kits when it comes to legit kits that don’t have a COA to begin with. The knock-offs are smaller, I’m not sure by how much, but if the original kit has a 13 inch head and is 20 inches we can show the size with a soft tape measure around the head and next to the body to show it’s the right size.
That is upsetting to me. It looks nothing like Skya.
They even say “real baby” on the picture.
I wrote that part! LOL
I edited it!
Ah, okay. I thought the scammers did that. Wouldn’t put it past them.
They are going after more and more BB kits lately which just goes to show, that none of them are safe.
I just can’t understand how someone orders from these places advertising REAL babies as if they will get ANYTHING close to what they are showing. “What I ordered, what I got” No, you didn’t order a real baby…
Lately I’ve seen these scam sites advertising real PUPPIES as a toy. They even show videos of the “toy” running through the grass, wagging its tail, licking a person, with the tag line “you won’t believe it’s not real”. Uh, no, I totally believe it’s real! I can’t believe people fall for these ads!
Ya know, BB’s kits are a very Do-able price, how much ‘cheaper’ can they (the scammers) sell them for?? What horrid people they are!!
Yes! I’ve seen that advertisement! In the comments people are like that’s awesome…a toy doesn’t need to be fed and doesn’t poop. I’m like, people really think that’s a toy? What’s even more astonishing is I’ve seen a shark, that is clearly animated rolling around on the floor and playing peekaboo and people are thinking it’s real! It’s even more surprising that they think they can get that shark and dog for only $26.99…if our technology was really that good to actually produce a toy like that…I can guarantee you won’t get it for that price. I’m glad you shared this because I’ve been thinking the same way you have…wondering why no one is mentioning that it is a real dog and not a toy.
I also saw those…Unreal that people cannot see it’s a real puppy shown and no way would a toy look like that. DUH
Ugh!
I hate all these scammers
