Yep. In Texas it’s only a girl name. Mainly Hispanic girls.

I’ve only known female Almas in my life and they were all older women. However, it makes sense now that I only see a boy in the awake version.

How do you pronounce the girl version of Alma? I wonder if it is pronounced differently than the boy name Alma? The boy name is pronounced similar to Allen.

Gotcha. I’ve actually never known a girl named Alma that I can recall anyway. In my mind Alma was always a boy name:)

It’s crazy how names work. It never crossed my mind that it could be a boy name. After I found out the real baby Alma was a boy I had to look up the name. Most sites say it’s a girl name. But one said this.
