Can it be done? I have some nice mohair that is an ugly color. I was wondering if it can be re-dyed.

Yes! I do it all the time when I’m processing if I get a color that’s weird or uneven.
- Tie hair at the cut end with yarn/string (not rubber bands. They’ll disintegrate in hot water) Make several small bundles rather than one big one, & tie as tightly as you can.
- Use acid dye per manufacturer instructions. I like Dharma or Jaquard dyes.
- Rinse thoroughly in hot water. For extra protection against bleeding I wash with Dawn dish soap.
- Apply conditioner & let sit 10mn or so
- Rinse & let dry
- Comb out each bundle. It’ll be frizzy. To get rid of the frizz, work diluted conditioner or water through the bundle and let dry again
- Cut below the tie as needed for rooting

Would you suggest I get a starter kit and go from there? I love colors and mixing colors. I may be in trouble now.
You need to get ACID dyes; I think the best basic color is the brown 635 but you only need a pinhead for large pot. So get the smallest jars.
