I’ve had migraines off n on for years, but past couple of weeks they have been more frequent. Presently my oven is in my bathroom and I only use with the window open and door shut, but I’m beginning to wonder if that’s enough.
Has anyone placed theirs safely in the garage without damages from heat and cold?
Put that thing outside. Don’t bake in your home no matter what window is open. I live in Florida and my oven has to endure the heat and yes we can get freezing weather esp at night. It’s covered from rain but I won’t put it in the house. Or if you have a garage open the door when baking. You do not want those toxins near you
I use mine out on my deck. I bring it inside when I’m done.
I am so glade you replied. I no live in Florida and wanted to start painting again. Now I know I can put my oven outside. I have one other question that sorta dovetails this one… Can I paint indoors? I have fans and all, but I have never really smelled anything with GPS.
I can open garage doors to get ventilation. Otherwise it won’t be much. Thanks for info, I’m moving it into the garage today. I talked to my husband and he thinks I should switch to air dry to be on safe side. I feel like it’s going to be such a huge learning curve. I’m just getting heatset down
I keep my Nuwave on a metal outdoor endtable on my patio. I’m in WV so some nights can get into the teens if not lower. As long as it’s above 30 I leave it outside. The couple really cold nights we’ve had I just bring it right inside the door in my kitchen.
I know this might seem like a crazy question, but how do you all transport your parts to place them in the oven. We have pets and I have always kept everything in my room to keep them from being hit with unsuspected pet hair. I mean it’s not flying around my house like crazy, bc my dogs hardly shed, and I dust n vacuum on a daily basis. I also change air filters. I’m worried about stuff sticking to my painted parts.
I paint very close to my patio. Like right inside the sliding doors. But my cat sits right at my feet and I don’t have a problem. Although I do dust off all my parts before I start painting. But that is more because I seem to shed more than the cat does.
I do too.
Its awful. I find my hair all over the place. Drives me nuts. And now I’m shedding eyelashes.
We only have one little dog and she has real hair, doesn’t shed because I’m allergic. I carry the parts back and forth. I had a baker’s rack in the house by the lanai and would rest them on there while fully cooling or before baking. I paint in an extra bedroom but I don’t smell much. I use odorless thinner but still have some ventilation.
Personally I would stick with heat set, just keep the oven outside
From all my research and reading what others have said, the paints are not toxic. The toxicity comes from the vinyl doll heating. It releases toxins. So, I would think it would be fine to paint inside.
Thank you so much for easing my mind.
Possibly. I don’t use heat set paints for that reason – it is toxic to heat the vinyl. I have too many health problems already, so I didn’t think I needed to take a chance on getting more. That makes sense, though.
I keep mine outside, just outside the garage door. I have it under the awning so it doesn’t get wet.
I am terrified of breathing that stuff in.
Me too Gina…can’t breathe that!
I paint inside and open a window when the weather lets me. But my NuWave is in our sunroom that’s closed to the rest of the house and I bake out there. Windows open there as able too. It gets pretty cold here and the porch isn’t heated, but have never had an issue. I do worry though when it’s really cold that the dome could crack as it heats but it must do it gradually enough that it copes well. No way would I bake inside the house!
I live in Florida and I keep mine out all the time.
