Oh definitely. Even someone spending $500, $600 on a doll, it should have a pretty presentation. That doesn’t mean that the box has to be stuffed with tons of things, it just needs to look nice.
It’s kind of like going to a fancy restaurant where you are paying $$$ for dinner. If they handed you a burger in a wrapper and fries in a cup like they do at Macdonald’s, you’d be sitting there like ???
I have seen some packages stuffed with extras. That’s nice, but I wonder if it’s not more distracting than anything else. Then does it become expected, shifting the focus from the work too the package. I sound like in contradicting myself but I guess it’s trying to find a balance. I do think when packing a box it should be cohesive and not overdone. I think if someone puts so much effort into making a quality reborn, the box would be a natural extension of their style. I’m sure your boxes are beautiful☺️
I keep things to a minimum. No big box opening. Every item added and wrapping supplies adds to cost. I try to keep costs as low as I can. I enjoy knowing my doll is going to someone that will take care of it. And I do not know other peoples taste. One person hated knitted or crocheted clothing. I usually send baby in one complete outfit. One blanket and pacifier. 2 diapers. One barrette and one headband if a girl. I have had people buy for there elderly family members. Had one girl that for her birthday she would come and choose one of my dolls for her birthday gift. I think it is just what each person likes to do. I personally prefer to have a good quality doll and choose items for it myself.
I line the box with a large white garbage bag and place everything into that and then tie it up tight. I wrap the baby in a blanket with a ribbon and then wrap it in bubble wrap. I wrap all clothing and accessories in colored tissue paper. I use air pillows if there is a little room in the box so everything doesn’t slide around much. Sometimes I put cute nursery themed stickers on the packages inside the box and on the outside.
Exactly. And I saw so many beautiful, extravagant and gigantic box opening that ended with a poorly done doll. It often seem they want to compensate their bad work.
Nice, clean, safe and simple I think is the way to go. @342jda you are right, people do have their own taste and I have received pictures of my reborns dressed in totally different clothes than the one I have sent just moments after they received it. So I send one or 2 outfit, the basic hat/socks/mitts/onesie/blanket, diapers, pacifier, papers. Sometimes I may add headband or lovey. No more.
That is so true! I sent such a beautiful expensive clothes with my LouLou since in my world she was a very expensive $950 baby. I received her pictures in black and white sleeper as soon as mama open the box.
Let their new mamas to spoil them in the taste of their own .
This is closer to my expectations. It really was just an extra to have an unboxing. I lucked out and love everything that was sent to me. I hadn’t considered that people might not have the same tastes as I do. Lol!!
I can tell you that I have received two babies just sort of thrown in a box with obviously used clothes. Those sellers and I definitely did not have the same taste.
And now that I’m thinking about it, I ended up not caring for those dolls too much. The fact that their artists cared so little about them may have left a bad taste in my mouth. Not the only reason I ended up selling them ( with a much nicer box opening), but possibly a contributing factor… Maybe that’s what buyers mean when they talk about their bond being messed up.
