Did you get the total number of pre-loved dolls and calculate the percentage of pre-loved that sold as compared to the percentage of new artist listed dolls that sold? That would be interesting to know. I am not listing or even visiting reborns.com as I am way too busy
No. I only want to see how many are selling from new and pre-loved.
Love the stats! @YelenaRey
@taylorsgirl would you be allowing Alternatives? I think it is a good idea anyway. I do not sell my dolls but would love a site where we could sell them if we wanted. The more doll sites the better.
Yes. Alternatives will be welcome. And given the same exposure as regular reborns.
The ability to list as many dolls as we have for sale
If I get time I will calculate each separately and the relative odds of selling for a pre loved vs a new doll. I love stats
The only problem with listing as many dolls as we have for sale at the same time is that if they rotate, as they do on reborns.com, the people who only have one listed will be shortchanged as far as exposure because so many will have to rotate out first. When one person has multiple listings, they all get seen, just not at the same time.
Iām not sure the math shows an accurate picture. I just sold a doll on ebay, so I went to reborns.com and changed the status to sold. I donāt know how many people sell multiple places, but the last 7 dolls I sold were not on reborns yet they are listed as sold dolls there.
I agree, the math is not 100% accurate, as I say that people list them in multiple places, and then mark on Reborns as Adopted. But we are comparing it to the āold timesā when same thigs happens.
And BTW, things happens in opposite way also. I have a free nursery. My doll was adopted today, but he is not showing as adopted because I am not active.
Like I said, I am not trying to prove anything to anyone. I am just curios in numbers for myself.
And look, @katieperry , I just saw it on Adopted page - it has engraved nursery name and it wasnāt removed by Dave. So, pictures, pillows, onesies, etc with nursery names should work.
I love that engraved idea! Looks fancy. I need to fins a place to order one
@TrinityCrystal I am 100% with you. I would love to see this happen.
Iāll be watching for this!! Sounds like a wonderful idea
If he catches it he will delete those pics though. One big problem with his rules is heās inconsistent with them. Some people get away with breaking the rules. Others donāt.
I have a Delilah Iām going to post soon. Iāve had my titles edited before for having a descriptive title. I see many other right now with titles that say ācutieā and āsweetieā and those are up there, so I am sure my photo would be taken down if I put my pillow in with Delilah. I donāt know how the system works, but I am sure if I put a picture with my pillow Iād would be taken down. Seems so trivial, not sure why , oh well I guess. But Iām a paying member too, so I think the rules should be consistent.
I did some digging last night, just out of curiosity. Iām thinking that to get a solid site going that has a good chance of actually sticking around, whoever starts it will need a good $20,000. $15,000 minimum. I doubt getting artist support will be an issue since everyone keeps getting irritated with him.
Same here. I sold 2. One there and one locally.
I am experienced in SEO and have web developers willing to help so thatās a plus.
Dave isnāt the only one who can do SEO and get high ranking on Google. The scam sites do it regularly.
Im also aware of the cost. But after a long discussion with my husband last night be supports me building it and is willing to help financially to get it going.
Not saying it will happen overnight. But Dave isnāt the only game in town and frankly Iām sick of his nitpicky rules. Lol
Sales seem to be picking up over there now.
22 sold in the last 6 hours and none were pre-loved.
Good point.
Itās great that you are knowledgeable and have support.
Who knows he might have a list of the renegade folks that have used watermarks before, thus be on the lookout for your photos. I too have noticed some folks get away with the watermarks and Iām assuming many havenāt. I have wondered why he strongly against watermarks, but what DollyPardon said makes complete sense, he doesnāt want folks to search for the nursery name easily on Google. (I hope Iām saying this correctly). I actually googled my nursery name yesterday and found my doll Summer Rain that was purchased over a year ago on Reborns.com was being sold on Ebay! He did acknowledge that I was the artist.
So I have just had a good turn about day!
My Little Berenguer baby sold last night through Reborns after I marked it down. I am just ready to move some stuffā¦
My Sage girl was pending a local sale
My Sage Boy was still listed available on Reborns.
I had a former customer write to me and ask to see the Sage boy dressed as a girl because she missed the sale of the girl.
I redressed him and posted quick photos.
My local customer got here and saw the boy redressed as a girl and decided she wanted it instead because she liked the darker hair.
So I messaged my former customer and told her the situation and that the girl was back up for sale to which she immediately said she wanted her so she went to my reborns account and purchased her.
SO I show 3 babies sold there within the last 24 hours but only 1 of them actually sold as a result of that website possiblhy. Even then, I post the links on my FB page and advertise them through FB market place as well as had them on Etsy for more money to cover the costs there. Whoās to say exactly how the buyer wound up over at reborns but I am thinking based on my previous sales that most of my traffic comes from my own advertisements and FB page and not as a result of that actual website.
