Practicing photography šŸ’›

Now that I’ve found a room in the house that gets decent sunlight I’m experimenting with photography. Ashley was a most excellent model for me

Great pics! I stink at photography and do not have good natural light coming in my house. My house is a ranch style built in 1983 and it just was not set up to let a lot of light in.

Same, there is literally no sunlight coming in my house, EXCEPT for fleeting times in the day at certain places, like my daughter’s bedroom lol.

May I provide constrictive criticism?

@Lynaea1234 @anjsmiles @AGivensBaby thank you! And @YelenaRey yes please- I always want to learn and improve :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

OK, take it with a grain of salt, as I am not the best photographer

While your vintage chair look so adorable, I think it wasn’t the greatest prop to photograph a sleeping preemie-sized baby. I understand it’s a doll, but sleeping baby just doesn’t look natural in that position, unless it’s an older baby who can sit and accidentally fall asleep while sitting. If you would use a basket that would be great!

Disclaimer: I do photograph sleeping rooted babies in the sitting position ONLY to show their swirl rooting.

I hope I didn’t hurt your feelings. :hugs:

@chatrat thank you!

And @YelenaRey I agree with you! The posing isn’t the best- it was a rush job as both of my kids were home and needing my attention, haha.

As far as the chair itself, I know a lot of newborn pictures are done on smaller furniture and appear precarious, but there is always someone nearby ā€œspottingā€ (their hands/bodies are often photoshopped out). So while I should have curled her up more, the chair itself is well within the realm of newborn props  Lots of cute examples online!

You could also use the rocker/chair similar to this pic where the baby is in a bucket/basket thingy on top of the chair!

Btw, I Love the last pic you took

Ooh, @YelenaRey is that was you meant? The basket on top of the chair? I thought you meant instead of.

That’s cute! The chair is really small (toddler size) and I’m not sure I have a basket or bucket that will fit but I’ll keep an eye out for one at the thrift store

Your photos are amazing. Are you using a ā€œrealā€ camera?

If you are asking about the pic I added in, it’s just a pic I got off Google

I was actually asking @JoyW if she was using a real camera…

Thank you, Pia! Just my iPhone  If you zoom in they’re not super clear. I have a digital camera but it’s just so cumbersome…

I have a camera too, but use my iPhone…so easy to upload to FB and forum. Your pictures look great…

It’s the ease of use for me, too. I can instantly edit and upload. Plus, my camera is probably obsolete now anyway…I bought it nearly ten years ago

Thanks for the kind words on the photos!

Beautiful pictures
