Potential rooting pillow that will be available in my shop

I told myself i wouldnt purchase any more reborning supplies till i start selling. I needed a rooting pillow so i crocheted this pretty quickly realising it also holds tools in the holes. Im gonna send a few to potential testers i think before i offer them up. The middle dips down to hold the head, and its made with fluffy blanket chenille yarn. Do you guys think there would be any interest? I have some perfecting to do as this was a trial free hand pattern that needs a couple tweeks but its been working well!

I prefer a satin lining so the hair doesn’t rub against the fabric. Does the yarn cause static?

This is exactly what i needed to hear. I actually dont know as i havent rooted the opposite side of the head yet. I havent noticed any static. Its not like a fleece but more a silky plush feel. I wonder tho if i could find bulky satin yarn!

I don’t know about silky bulky yarn but rooting pillows have been around for quite a while and as Pia said, it’s best that they be covered in satin material so the hair stays nice and doesn’t matte or get pulled out. Keep your eyes open you might find some kind of silky yarn I just haven’t seen it. Good Luck.

Best i could find is like a silky bamboo or soft and sleek anti pill yarn. I suppose i could try a 2 strand to make it a bulky weight. Ill do some experimenting. Thanks i really appreciate the feedback

Do you have issues at all not using silk under babies head? Wondering if its a big issue or just personal preference

It seems to keep the hair from messing up when you have to reposition it… I have a square of satin that I lay on the pillow I am using and I put the head on that. Doing it that way, any pillow would work.

Great feedback. Im trying to possibly figure how i could attach a satin piece on the bowl side. Without adding a ton of difficulty haha. Ill play around with it. I just love how soft and fluffy it turned out

I usually have Saran Wrap. I agree satin would probably be great addition, and I should try that soon, but I really don’t have alot of issues with hair rubbing out.
