I always send friends and family if it’s someone I know. (Forum Family) Other wise good and services. If you pay friends and family the seller does not get charged any fees.

Same here. I would never ask a customer to pay friends and family and would only send that way for friends or family.

As others said, for business transaction use only “goods & services”. Th “friends & family” is purely, as the name suggests, for when you need to send money to somebody you know. It is specially great for sending money to friends or family member in another country, because it is much cheaper and faster than most other options. If seller asks you to pay as “friend & family” just run; there is absolutely no protection for non delivery or item that is not as described. That is the easiest scam there is.

But if customer pays by “friends & family” option, there is NO risk to you and they pay the fees.

Friends and family is when you are wanting to give someone money with nothing expected in return. It is against PayPals rules to send a money transaction for goods or services this way and they are cracking down. It is very unsafe to conduct business this way because as I stated you are giving someone money with no expectations of anything in return. So if they choose not to send you whatever it is they were supposed to send you , you are out of luck.

Goods and services means you are paying for something. Therefore whatever it is you are paying for you are now protected if you do not get it, it arrives damaged or not as described.
