Painting & rooting baby monkeys

Hey everyone !
So this will be my first time painting and rooting a baby monkey . I am going to try to make him a baby chimp .
Looking at the pictures of baby chimps i kind of understand the colors that go into it. However i dont want the monkey looking flat either.
Should i do the same undertones for the monkey as i do a human baby? Like veins etc?
Also any tips for rooting the hair?
Thanks lol i will also keep this thread open to show my wip as i go along as well

Anytime I e seen monkey “skin” other than being covered in hair it’s very spotty. Not sure what a babieswould look like, but I’d think they’d have thicker darker skin and you wouldn’t see the veins etc

I’m looking forward to seeing what you create

Here is one I made. Just wanted something cute.

Maybe make a little human/monkey hybrid? I know one artist who made one. Very interesting! :hear_no_evil:

Hiya Kelsey, curious if you ever made progress on this cute little baby. :slightly_smiling_face:

Here’s my Binky. I hand dyed four shades of orange/auburn mohair.

Wow! That’s a ton of hair! And the green eyes are very unique!

Thanks! They’re actually blue eyes.

Very pretty. I see you rooted eyebrows as well. :slightly_smiling_face:

I did that to cover up a booboo.
