I am attempting to paint hair on Gracie.Any tips or tricks for a beginner?

I think it looks great!
My best trick is to look at hair on real babies and paint what you see. If you can’t find good reference photos, a head of nicely rooted hair will do. You’ll be able to see the flow, highlights, the darker areas where hair clumps together.
Other than that, so far, so good. Painting hair realistically is not an easy task. You are off to a good start. Looks way better than when I started.
I don’t know if this will help ir not because i use prisma pencil and only use paint as the last step to make some areas look darker. But Use light somewhat short strokes. I have found that if I use really long strokes, the hair looks drawn on. Also, I start by lightly mapping the hair so it slowly build a up. It usually take several layers of pencil to build it up to where I would like. And making the hairs cross eachother also adds realism.
