Paint brushes chat

Let’s chat about Paint Brushes. I figured out what was leaving “junk” on my painted kits. Lint and hairs were from the paint brush. I’ve cleaned them and all it’s still there. Today I must buy new ones…what type of brushes is recommended? I did read makeup ones dollar tree ones etc

One of my favorite brushes is a small mop brush from BB, I got it 5 years ago and it’s still in perfect condition. Another is a bb liner, the smallest one they have. The rest are from Michael’s or the dollar store

I like the Soft-Grip line from Michaels quite a bit!! Easy to hold, even with arthritis, and nice quality. I have a fan brush, round, script liner, and mop from them. I’ve also bought the Super Value brush pack from Michaels, and I use a few brushes from it regularly. They’re nice because they’re very inexpensive, so you don’t feel guilty if you need to throw them out, but they’re still pretty good brushes and don’t shed.

I’ve had one from the value pack where the color of the handle did come off after being exposed to a lot of paint thinner which made a mess, but it’s never happened with another. I still check them every time I use them, just to be sure, but I think that was a faulty brush. Still worth warning about, I thought, just in case!!

My favorites:
A set of ReBornFX brushes that I got with a starter kit that I use every time
I have many assorted filbert’s from Michaels, size 10 and 8 are my favorite
I have some liners and script brushes from 30/0 to 10/0
Lots of cheap flats in various sizes from multipacks.
A tiny Modge Podge brush with really short bristles that I use in creases

My favorites are:
Artist’s Loft sets I get from Michaels (purple handles and white bristles)
Dollar Tree makeup brushes (Wet N Wild brand I think?)
For hair patenting - needlepoint brushes I got from MacPherson’s

Thank you which kind of brand did you get from micheals

Awesome selection

Thank you now that’s a detailed list. I can work with. Going to micheals today I think I’ve had mines too long or something.

Thanks everyone this really helps

No clue. I just grabbed one that I liked. I can take a pic of it if you want. I think I got it while visiting the US awhile back so I can’t even say for sure which michael’s location it was lol

To keep lint and dust off my brushes I cover them with a plastic bag when I finish cleaning them. This solves anything that might be on there for the next use. That works for me, couldn’t afford to replace brushes constantly, myself.

Yes could you post a photo?

I can’t afford it either the bag is a good option.

Hands down favorite brushes are Black Gold by Dynasty. Others have worn out while these perform like new though I use them on every baby and have had most for over 4 years.

Those were the original ones I started using loved them but the local stores no longer carry them

I have mine in big A&W mugs and just put a plastic bag over them. Keeps themj clean and lint and dust free, cheaper than buying new ones all the time.:footprints::baby:
