good evening
I am new to the reborning art and am having a few chalanges I have put the blue wash inside the doll neutralised the vinal withe bb grean GHP it looks very nice done some vains (very few and very lightly ) and pounced a layer of o8 skin tone on the baby but help have I done it wrong when do I do the creases I would appreciate any advice thanks in advance
There are some great tutorials out there and here bb has paint by numbers, Nicole Russell has her facebook reborn the beautiful way and I just found Rachel Maynard has one that is I think my favorite beginner tutorial. I usually do lots of different layers to build depth and use very thin layers for my creases. These tutorials will help you understand the basics and then you can do what works for you and what your kit needs. When you think it looks like crap just keep going and magically it will start to come alive! Good luck!
Here is Rachel Maynard’s tutorial (I really want to do her Polly!) you could use the colors you have on hand and follow her instructions- the bb mint is just fine for neutralizing most kits : http://www.joomag.com/magazine/precious-little-babies-free-painting-tutorial-painting-tutorial-2014/0336296001397902063
Here is Nicole Russells awesome tutorial: Redirecting...
Oh yeah I also don’t use any washes inside my babies and I don’t wash the inside out so that there is some oil in there to help preserve the integrity of the vinyl as it ages.
I agree 100% with Melissa @rosered . There are multiple YouTube videos available too!
Everyone has their own style. Some people lay down a lot of skin tone layers before they do any other coloring. Other people only do skin correction coloring and then mottling layers before adding any skin tone layers to baby. Some do creases last and others do creases as they go building them in thin layers and applying them more than once. It is all in what you see that you like. Even when I follow a tutorial I adjust it along to the way to suit my own tastes.
Thank you for your kind replays Al of the comment have so for been very helpful
I bought the Bb heat set crease paint. I use it very lightly. I have seen several babies that there is barely any color in the creases. It looks so much better. I am learning and I have watched several hours of YouTube videos. There is so much information on there. Everyone is correct that we all have different way to reborn a baby. There are some wonderful ones on here… I just love seeing all of the differences. I am working on Joey. I had to strip my first 3 - I was going to fast and made a mess. So now I am slowly doing him. I still wonder how to paint inside the nose (Someone Please Help!) Or to open the nose / does the felt ever run? You will find what suits you… Just don’t give up!
