Non-reborn identity? And a berengeur

Wondering if any of you can tell me anything about this silly face. On her neck is a made in China stamp and on the flange Syndee. We found her while cleaning my Granny’s house out. I believe my great aunt gave it to her in the 90s, or maybe the 80s. She is hard viny. Her body was stuffed with poly fil and had a little bead sack attached inside her tushy. She had nothing in her limbs. She is currently disassembled for cleaning so I can display her. My kids aren’t crazy about her but she was my Granny’s doll and I find that

face enduringly adorable.

This Berenger was also my Granny’s. I can’t help but smile when I look at her. I’d love to reborn her but I don’t trust myself to do it. I just had to share her face too.

Walmart sold these in the 80’s. I still have them in the attic.

I remember these. They were cheap doll kits that you got at places like Walmart. My mom had a few.

I just found that listing. I also saw one assembled wearing the same dress this one had on. My Granny’s sister had a friend who was crafty. I bet she assembled this doll for my Granny. I think I’m going to order her a new wig that covers more of her head.

Just saw a post here about Monique’s wigs going out of business, so now is a good time and maybe last time to shop for them on sale.

Wow that is so cool! I’ve never seen a kit like that before!

I saw lots of really cheap doll parts in the eighties, but I think our stores carried old stock from previous decades.

This one looks much nicer in quality than the thin, brittle hollow faces and 1/4 hands and feet I saw back then.

I love her toes and the dimples on her hands. Definitely worth some fixing up since you are sentimental and fond of her. :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh my word! I have wanted a Syndee doll so bad, and I cannot find them. I don’t believe they make them anymore. I would say you have a true treasure and by it being your Granny’s, it is even more of a treasure! I would hold on to that baby and never let go!

And in the 2000’s. I bought some then.

I’ll see if I can find them. They’ve been stored for 30 years.
