Newer kit seconds cheap

15% sitewide doesn’t sound like a huge discount. But they also have all the newer kit seconds on sale for $25…Landon Awake, Laila Awake, June, Kyrie, Jade etc. I got Landon and Jade. The extra 15% discount basically paid for my shipping.

I just ordered jade and Landon

I couldn’t resist Jade and Landon. I really wanted Madison and Laila too. I already have Kyrie and June. But I love my June and would love to paint another one. But I managed to resist all of those babies.

I can’t wait to see what you do with her. She’s such a precious little baby.

No way am I ordering. I just caved and got seconds on huge Joseph. Total kit diet here.

I caved and got a seconds Joseph the other day too. I told myself if God allowed the money, I would get him. My Dominic sold and was paid for right before seconds Joesph went on sale. He was more than enough to cover all 3 of the kits I just bought. Now another one is in the process of selling. I’m waiting for payment now. It’s tempting to buy more kits. I really want Pebbles from MacPherson. But I’m going to wait a little while on her. I already have 2 customs to finish, along with several others on my table. I’ll make a deal with myself…when I sell all the ones on my table, I can get Pebbles. :grimacing:

I only bought small supplies. Kit diet here, also.

I’m needing to be on a kit diet until at least the end of August. I have so many bills that I need to pay and kits that need to sell. I haven’t sold in over two to three weeks.

I bought before the sale started :frowning:

I resisted the STRONG urge to get Landon awake and just got bodies, plugs, and glass beads for my Leif/Aspen twins that are nearing completion. I’m equal parts proud of myself and wishing I had ordered Landon awake, lol.

BB kits are top notch, most of the time when I order seconds, the flaws are so minor that it does not even matter, so I went all in the last time they had seconds on sale. These kits almost seemed like thirds. They came with multiple black marks either on the face or neck. One kit I couldn’t use (I saved the limbs), one other I had to sell at a discount. Now I’m scared of them.

Maybe this will help some of you resist.

Oh no! I ordered the seconds before they even went on sale :frowning: I will be really bummed if they are like thirds. I am a little worried because my first quality Jade that I am painting has black spots. Most I can work around, but one I can feel. I think it is the kind that is metal and if I were baking would become a hole.

I’m finding the same with the seconds, which is why I was on the fence with huge baby, Huge baby=huge flaws, We shall see.

Yes, now the firsts are like seconds, seconds like thirds. If they don’t get a grip on this soon they are going to begin to feel it.

Oh no. I haven’t had this happen yet. I buy seconds a lot. But most of them go straight to the bin. I don’t even check them til I’m ready to paint them. So far I’ve never seen anything other than a couple of tiny black dots and one kit had a cut on her chin…looked like they cut her with a box opener when they opened the box. But apparently I need to go check all my kits and make sure to check them when they arrive from now on.

I had been ordering seconds for the past couple of years without a problem. I have always said that BB seconds were better than firsts from other companies because half the time I couldn’t even find the flaw. When I did, it was only something minor, like a blackish spot on a limb or something. I could easily work with that… It was only this last batch where I ordered a huge box. I’m hoping to pinpoint whether this is a new trend with seconds kits, if kits that bad were just a one time thing not likely to come up again, or if I should run when the seconds are on sale. Hopefully we can figure this out.

Great. I just told somebody seconds are fine and you often can’t find anything wrong with them. Are seconds kits non returnable even if they have bad flaws?

I have no idea. I didn’t even try to return them since I did buy them as seconds.

Seconds still may be okay… we don’t know. Are the really bad ones only the ones on sale? Not sure.

I’ve had many issues where things would apprear as I worked on them and baked them. Like bubbles pin holes and such. My firsts June was a mess but I made it work. I called B.B. and they gave me a choice of half off the kit on the price i paid or a gift card. It’s happened a few times. Huge Joseph is seconds so we shall see. It’s been happening for a good 4 months now.
