For anyone who hasn’t heard, we now have a holiday! Tons of dealers and vendors are offering one day sales in honor of National Reborn Doll Day on Sept 15th. We’ll be doing some fun stuff at Reborn Rap Podcast. This holiday is for everyone in the community, you can share, make your own images, celebrate in any way you want! I have created a Facebook group if anyone wants to stay up to date on events for the day or post their’s. https://www.facebook.com/share/g/19WUP8jttw/
National Reborn Doll Day is a holiday dedicated to celebrating the artistry, passion, and skill involved in creating handmade realistic reborn dolls. One community, one passion - the art of handmade realism. Our mission is to unite a global community of artists, collectors, sculptors, dealers and enthusiasts to foster connection, appreciation, and awareness for the therapeutic and creative beauty of reborn art. This national day is celebrated every year on September 15th.
The doll is not ai generated, I used Gemini to create the template and text and added my own photo of my Alessandro that I created in the center. I am very against using AI to create reborn images or use it on images to mislead, especially for sales. But I feel it’s a very powerful tool when used ethically! It can come up with things that I never would have been able to make on my own from scratch, especially when I can’t find a good template in canva.
My point is that there’s always been artists who could make such a banner for you and help you with ideas. Instead you’re skipping over those people and using Ai as a shortcut. If that’s what you want to do, fine, but it doesn’t match your message of supporting artists. Unless you’re only interested in supporting reborn artists.
If you did it 18 years ago, you weren’t using generative Ai. It’s something that has only been around for a few years. Using clip art and such is not the same thing.
Don’t fret. It looks good and the baby is a real reborn. People use all kinds of things to enhance or clarify images. Unless they’re using a fake image of the doll itself, I don’t see anything wrong with it. I don’t see it as being unsupportive of artists.
