Name question

Im not very creative thinking of names or maybe too lazy to think of one…so my names for my dolls are the kit name.Is that a nono because then its my creation not the sculptors ?
For myself Ive only made a few so hasnt been confusing yet.Guess if i put one up to sell it would need its own name anyway.

Some rename them, some don’t. It’s totally a matter of personal preference. For now, I’ve stopped renaming them because it’s less to remember.

I love to name them, but it’s just for fun. Using the kit name can actually be an advantage because people sometimes look for a specific kit. I just like them to have a name while they are with me. I leave a space on the Birth Certificate so their Moms can give them a new one when they come home. Many times they keep the ones I gave them though, and I really like that.

For me, if the kit name suits the completed reborn, then I keep that name. If the kit name doesn’t match, then I change it

I like to know the kit name. I think “my version of the ____ kit by _____ ____” would work just fine. Or you can name it and say "My baby ______, my version of the _____ kit by _____ ____."
Or something along those lines.

I worked with a young lady whose name was Thomasine (pronounced Thomas-een)

I used to name all of mine… And I loved it. But… It made it tricky when people were searching for a specific sculpt. For example… On reborns.com… If someone is wanting a Presley, they type in Presley. If I named mine Jimmy… He wouldn’t show up on the list!

I do the same as Jenni if I’m selling a doll. I always put the the kit name and sculptor in my auction title

@nimlet Thomasine’s sister was called Geraldina. I think their parents had unusual taste in names, but I loved both names

Wonder if they were told they were having boys?

Either that or maybe they wanted boys and were blessed with girls instead? x

My Mom wanted to name my sister Staticia. (stay-tisha) No clue on spelling… but they went with Kelly. Lol

And I was supposed to be a boy. They were going to name me Jeremiah. I am named Jennifer.

Im gladvim not doing a nono on the dolls using the amsculpt name…I like the kit names because then i can refer to the actual sculpt with the name.Knowing me idcforget the sculpt name if i didnt…in a senior moment…they usually look like their names to me… yes or unless a boy name and you do a girl or make multiples of that sculpt.Well thanks all its fun seeing what others do
