My Kimi.She was a hard one.Lots of fixed booboos …Im pretty happy although her eyelashes arent top job.Did them 4 times and settled.Dont know why the open eye lashes are so difficult for me… but the are.
Hate to always complain about my work but i guess we are all striving for perfection

She"s cute, I get the thing with the open eyed babies, I struggle with everything about them!!

this one was all kinds of booboos. eyes wouldnt move… looked so dollie stare…
runny glue i tried ran out front of eyes Then cleaning later still had some dots of glue on her face …had still some glue corners of eyes.then had to remottle her…then added more hair …patches were light dont know if i brushed it out or what then the eye lashes…4 times i think…never had so many probems!! but she is cute! well always be an xmas present for grand daughters!

Lynn i know i looked I have Honey coming up Dumplin and Shyann…im almost cringing all those open eyes to do!!I swore id stay with closed eyes.Much less stress

I prefer the closed eye babies. Some of the babies with eyes are so beautiful and I think it depends on how the eyes are set. I have such trouble setting them that I just hate doing it!! Another thing I have issues with are eyes that are sculpted uneven. When I look at a beautiful doll sculpt and I see that one eye is “bigger” than the other, well I just don’t like it. I have an issue with Saskia’s eyes, one is quite a bit more "open’ than the other. I hate it. I have 2 of those kits and I think I’ll try to trim the other eye out a little cause I just don’t like the look of that larger eye. Some people have been able to do that doll and make it not so noticeable but others are Really noticeable!! It’s just my problem, Ignore it!! lol

oh i know Lynn…i had one cant think of the name it was just aweful to try and make them look right.Dont know if i ever did!!
Those big and little sockets …Morgan has different size holes but somehow hers work out ok. Looks cute.

I know what you mean I struggle with the eyes too but I still like open eyes, lol.
I think Kimi may be harder to root lashes since there isn’t much lid.
@lynn I’d be afraid to trim the opening and then the eye has a space or gap between the eyeball and lid.
While I quite understand liking eyes of the same shape and size as the human brain perceives symmetry as beauty, a lot of real babies and people of all ages have eyes of slightly different sizes. Faces are mostly non-symmetrical. As for Saskia, she has an expression on her face that may not have looked as real with perfectly equal eyes, I think.
maybe harder true…very little lid.but i have trouble with most of open eyed.

Right now I love the kimi sculpt so yours is automatically a winner! Made one a few months ago but a friend fell in love with her (she is making her into a him). I am making another one but not as happy with the coloring yet. I have a third one in the stash box.
As for open and closed eyes, I love open eyed babies but wish I could get the hang of rooting eyelashes on them. Just can’t get them to look right. They want to stick straight out. So I feel your pain on glue issues!
I have fought the lashes too Still am not real happy with mine but tried a new angle and it helped some Still some do gace such a thin area to root lashes in HARD!! This was my second Kimi First was one of my very first or second doll i did for my grand daughter
