I was going for a fair skin tone, but this doesn’t look much different than the unpainted vinyl. In desperation I added some blush, and it made a bit of a difference, I’ve used almost all of the “light flesh” paint (diluted), and I’m concerned. What should I do?

I love him, and his rosy cheeks! If you want to add more depth to him I would add more mottling layers. Pale babies have easily visible mottling, veins, etc. He is super cute as-is though!

Aww, thanks! Here’s his Awake twin:
I was going for a sort of peaches and cream look, but they don’t look very peachy. I purposely stayed away from veins because I wasn’t going for super realistic. But they look washed out, especially the awake fella.

I agree with adding more mottling. You do t have to make it really bright, but the colors will add to the skin tone. You could also do a thin layer or two of umber to warm up the skin
