You don’t have one either? I assumed that almost all of us were on FB or IG. I’m really surprised about how many aren’t.

Do you pay extra to advertise them or just put them on your page? I have a business page I have had a long time now and I do list mine there but haven’t sold anything in a while. Although, last year I was not selling anything as once the show was over I had no left over babies to sell other than 3 I traded to a former customer for a blank silicone she won. So for a year my page has been a bit quiet. I have been trying to get it up and bringing in interest again. With so many shows going, it is becoming apparent that I am not going to be able to depend on selling out at a show now and will need to get back to selling online somehow.

@anjsmiles No advertising, no formalities. I still have regular accounts on both IG and FB.
Instead of explaining what I post, I’ll show you the main types of posts that people seem interested in. As of late it seems like it’s including more educational stuff because many of my followers are newer artists and they have questions. Top performers are half painted heads of hair. In between I post dolls for sale, but sometimes I already know who is interested because they message during the WIP stage.

I think it’s because I don’t just post pics of completed dolls for sale, but post other things that people find, maybe ask questions about. I follow other artists and comment on their posts when they show something I like. The algorithm responds to activity on the posts, so it pushes their posts out to more people. They do the same in return, which helps.
WIPs are pretty important to show. Some people will watch that doll develop and know they want it which results in an immediate sale. Sometimes they purchase prior to completion.
Some of the collectors I follow back. Many are really good at making dolls look cute in photos so I learn from them and like or comment on their posts. Their collector friends see my comments and click, some of them start to follow.
Quite a few collectors post in groups and if people like the doll they always ask who the artist is. Those people follow, often messaging to see what it would take to get something similar.
I’m also semi active in groups with newer artists who post for help with problems. If I can help, I do. Some people end up following that way.
This probably sounds like a ton of work, but it’s not. I just hop on when I’m taking a break anyway.
It is my opinion that every artist should use social media if possible. It costs nothing but time. It’s not good to be at the mercy of any one person who can change the rules on a whim and make life difficult.

Gorgeous photos and love that painted hair. Getting decent photos are my biggest trouble and I know that is what is holding me back in many ways.

Pics are a big struggle for me too @anjsmiles. I’m not good at it and I have back problems so it’s uncomfortable. All of mine now get taken on the table where I paint using an iPhone. I just clear everything off to do this, lighting is already good, and many of the shots are done from a seated position so it’s easy on my back

Dave added a new feature called traffic so we can now see how many looks our listings are getting! Finally a change I can agree with.

And he removed whatever stats were there for the free tier. Of course. 
Up until yesterday I was able to see them.

Yeah I’m not crazy about it…we could already see how many clicks or shows there were…
So thanks for what? Everyone over there is just commending the “change” but it seems nothing is new except not having access if an unpaid member…

He had to go out of his way to block stats from free tier members. It was extra work.
I get that he wants everyone on a paid plan, but most of the free tier customers do pay, just not every single month. In addition, they have more incentive to share his links since that’s the only way they will sell dolls, which in turn helps him rank as high as he does on search engines.
