Mohair for a beginner at rooting!

Sooooo I want to root my will kit that I stripped and pulled mohair out of. I have rooted 2 dolls before. And I used the cheap mohair BB sells, but has anyone used their premium mohair?

I bought delta dawn tonight, saw that the reviews weren’t good and requested a refund. I always heard it was the best mohair but I read on here that it is just greased up with conditioner and very hard to root and doesn’t have a marked cut end. So as a beginner I decided I wasn’t gonna deal with all that when my rooting isn’t good to begin with anyways!

Recommendations for mohair for a beginner?? And has anyone tried the premium mohair that BB sells?? Thanks everyone! Oh here’s a WIP pic of the Will Scholl I stripped. Very very early stages! Only a few pint layers have been applied!

Yes, the premium hair that bb sells is very nice! It’s soft and roots nicely. I’ve found it looks best when it’s only 1 hair in each hole, some super fine hair is okay with 2-3 per hole but this stuff really looks best with just 1. It is expensive for the amount though. If you’re looking for a cheaper and better (in my opinion) quality hair I would check out Golden Fleece Mohair @Rainbowbabies. I’ve also heard good things about mohair from a seller on Etsy called HairfordollsRU, just make sure to get the reborn hair from her. This baby was rooted with HP Babylocks which is the premium that bb sells. It’s very very nice

I would definitely recommend the hair from HairForDollsRU on Etsy for anyone beginner or expert, it is beautifully soft, shiny and has an easily identifiable cut end. The reborn mohair is a really good price the only downside is that as it is from Russia it can take 2-3 weeks to arrive but well worth the wait, I will now only buy my mohair from here.

I love the hair from HairForDollsRU but there is a lot of short hairs mixed in each bundle so you cant cut it in half without having to pull hairs and there is waste but for the money and the quality, this hair is amazing and I use it more than most other hair I have. For a beginner Id definitely recommend HP Babylocks or The Quirky Chromatist…Im sure there are others but I use these two and they are the easiest to root.

Angela’s premium mohair on Etsy is amazing for beginners too, really easy to root and very nice. But she not always have stock. Golden Fleece Mohair is my favorite.

@Rainbowbabies mohair is so easy to root, is affordable, doesn’t have any waste, and looks beautiful when it’s done. Here’s her site.

Sarah Silk, Silk Effex hair is wonderful, moderate priced and her browns NEVER bleed, ever
she gives really good customer service too, and is such a sweetie

I’m loving the look of babylocks it’s a bit pricey but I love the way it looks

I just received an order from J’s Premium Mohair. Look on Facebook…his website is listed there or you can order from Facebook sometimes. I have never seen such quality mohair. The cost is probably less than half of some popular places.
