So I have this doll that I had pretty much given up. She had horrible blue stains and I had tried everything to get them out. Toothpaste, Windsor and newton, magic eraser, pimple cream. When I say everything, I mean everything. This doll had been stained for yeeeeeears.
Anyway I was on MacP’s the other day and came across this product. It was really cheap (either 3.99 or 5.99 I can’t remember), so I thought I’d try it.
After all the failed attempts and months of trying to fix this precious childhood doll, I put a pea size amount of this over all her stains, and the next day they were gone. No scrubbing, no wrapping, no sunlight. I almost cried. I really wish I took some before and after pics, but I truly didn’t think it would work.
I just wanted to let you guys know(if you didn’t already) about this hidden gem.
I hope it works for you. I just wiped it off another stained doll. The blue stain has changed to a very light brown, but I think it will come off if I reapply and wait another day
It’s a more expensive because it’s a bigger size, but it looks like it’s in stock on their website. I want to try the stink spray and see what it’ll do for smoke smell
I wonder if this was one of the original stain removers for dolls and eventually the name was bastardized into zit remover, then people were using skin care products like Oxy-10 and the like?
I know I’ve seen this particular product before, but so often we’re recommending zit creams and pimple shrinking gels.
Good reminder of this, @Helenabeereborns! Glad you came across something that has worked when nothing else did!
I just received them yesterday.
So far D-Stinker does nothing. Maybe after it sit for a while, I will see.
Formula 911 seem to get the smell off, but replace it by an orange smell🙄. It’s greasy. I don’t know yet if it will last after washing or the smoke smell will come back. Does nothing for the burnt mark but I didn’t have any expectations.
I tried the zit remover, I will see in a couple of days if it does something. (I have a kit with purple marks too)
You have to use the formula 911 to get the zit remover completely off. Some will come off with water, but it leaves a ‘film’ that wont come off without the 911
