Measuring Lashes

It has been 10 years since I did applied lashes. I don’t remember what type I used back then. I want to use these by BB: Upper and Lower Black Wispy Eyelashes - #2170 - Bountiful Baby (DP Creations LLC)

Will be putting them on Sebastian. Thinking of using the bottom lashes for the top so that they are not too huge. My version is a boy, so want the lashes to be noticeable but not too much.

How do I measure them so they are not too long? I don’t want to mess them up. And what glue is the best now? I think I used to use Aileen’s. The last baby I applied lashes too was Lola Stoete. I do plan to practice rooting lashes on a seconds head and don’t want to start my first lashes with Sebastian. He is a keeper and a portrait baby.

Any tips on measuring and applying are greatly appreciated. I’d love to know what works for you.

I pretty much only use applied on open eye babies now, I can’t stand rooting open eyes! I take a long set of tweezers and hold the lash strip up to the eye with no glue on it, then I can see how much excess there is and snip it off. I use a gel superglue that sets up quickly!

These are the tweezers I use, they’re meant for false eyelashes, I find they really help.

Thanks for posting this. This was the lash tutorial I used 13 years ago but did not know how to find it again.

When the baby is very small, I just paint them on
