McPherson don't heat kits?

Hi, I was just about to purchase a kit from McPherson’s but see it says the kits shouldn’t be heated. Can I not use Genesis heatset paints? Or is McPherson just covering their donkey (ass)?

I use genesis heat set paints don’t hurt them

Ok thanks. So I guess McPherson is just covering themselves. I heat the BB kits with no issue. Thx again

It is just to cover themselves and I think rightly so.
If we buy a kit and we chose to heat it and it melts - that is not their fault…
If we buy a kit, we heat it and a bubble comes up due to this - not their fault…
etc

The kits were never made to be heated when painting… someone along the way experimented with Genesis on vinyl… Genesis needs heated to cure… so people figured out how to do it “right”… issue is heating vinyl is toxic and can cause issues with the kits and our health… yet many (myself included) use heat set paints anyways. Issues caused by this are not the fault of the kit dealer.

Vinyl isn’t meant to be heated and issues can occur. That isn’t a fault on their part and they can’t to anything about it. So they just say that to cover themselves.
