So one thing I’ve just realized is that progress in reborning isn’t linear. I look at my babies and feel that I’m not improving. So I put all 33 of them in order, and I feel like I do see progress. Every baby I make I try something new. Sometimes it turns out well, sometimes it’s terrible. I apply every good technique I find to the dolls I make, so I think they gradually get better. Do you guys feel this way, or do you thing all of your dolls are better than the last?
I hope this makes sense
I’m adding all my babies to try and show what I mean. I’ve been reborning for three years
I totally agree. I used to see improvement from one doll to the next, but then I seemed to plateau. Since then, my dolls have gotten better, but only in very subtle ways. I think once you get pretty good at the basic things (veining, mottling, skin tone), you start to perfect the details, which can be less obvious.
My favorites are Salia and vampire Rosalie I can definitely see what you’re talking about! Some of them look so different, but I can see that each one gets better.
I agree, the fangs improved her. That sculpt to me always reminds me of an elderly person without their dentures in. The fangs gave her the teeth she seems to be missing. Lol
Yes! But I painted for 36 hours straight when everyone started getting the preorders delivered. So she hit the market super early when evvveeerrryone wanted a Rosalie
I never thought of that but I totally see that . It was odd to me because I actually painted her to look vampiric. You can’t really tell in the picture, but she looked really really odd as a regular baby
I definitely see improvement as well! My experience has not been linear at all. I dramatically improved from my first to my 10th doll now it seems like I’ll be improving, have a couple dolls that I’m not at all happy with and then some more improvement. It’s definitely an ongoing up and down process.
