Good question for Pia @YelenaRey since I think there are some air dry artists who just paint hair then use heat set products in the end.. unless it’s necessary to seal with something prior to painting hair because heat set was used to paint the doll? That part I have no idea.

Your difficulty with rooting silicone, is it full body, issues due to awkward positioning? I am planning on getting into silicone, thought about learning to root, but who knows. Maybe I’ll end up painting hair on them too.

Hahaha, I even didn’t try that yet. Just cuddle silicone head(s). It’s an angle that needle needs to go in.

You are so good at rooting that if you are having problems it must me difficult. Hopefully I’ll end up somehow making painted hair look good. Do you know anyone who does this so I can see what it looks like?

No, I don’t know anyone who paints beautiful hair on silicone except Christine Wooley. This is why I want to take that class so badly.
I also learned at the shows that some well known artists who paint silicone hire others to root for them.
I don’t know if you know Joleen Warbington, but once she posted that it took her around 90 h to root a head, I didn’t feel so bad any longer ( and she paints and root silicone for several years now).
But, as I told you before, don’t base your fear on my experience. Some of our friends can root a full silicone head in a matter of hours in one night.

I think that using heat set over air dry is a problem?

Both babies are ready for hair. I will find half round eyes for Viviene (the ovals aren’t a good fit) and she gets painted hair in a month. Not sure about Sunna’s color, but probably a light/medium brown.
