I’ve never been good at rematching a stripped area.
Oh, poor thing! I see what you are talking about
I looked at my notes and I varnished her with Americana before the painting (I think someone here recommended it, maybe Pia) and her feet was so shiny. After that she painted beautifully and I had no problems.
I love Journey… I split the torso to make it removable…secure it with big (coat) hooks and eyes…

I don’t use airdry, so I didn’t make the suggestion. Sorry it didn’t work out well.
LOL, it’s not what I meant. I don’t used air dry either. Someone who painted with Genesis recommended to varnish Gracie Mae first. I though it was you.
I think I did seal first because of shiny limbs…
She was sooo shiny… lol
Oh gosh, might have to try my hand and see what happens. I figure either the hands and feet are patchy or they’re off from the rest of the limb, but regardless the hands/feet might not be great so why not try it?
Beautiful painting! Definitely saving this to look at when I split that torso, thank you!
She’s gorgeous, I love your shading!!
Love it!!
I haven’t used Americana before, I’ll have to go get some! Is it the soft-touch varnish?
Thank you kindly Cherie
Thank you so much. I only sell on reborns dot com.
Did 2 more layers tonight. Im so slow at painting. I wish i could make more time to paint. Also had my first hiccup. I over blued while doing a layer on creases before a depth layer around the nostrils and when i wiped it off the red before it that was already baked wiped off too i very carefully tried to repair it and hopefully with more layers it wont be noticed at all. Not sure why the paint came off. Wondering if i should do a layer of varnish before the next layer next time. But finally getting a little more depth? Gnight yall hope everyone’s having a good night
I would check your oven temperature with vinyl part in it because seems that your red didn’t cure.
My oven gets to 275 for the last few minutes. 265 by 4 mins in. I know its getting hott enough. There are a few others having issues with the oil paints rubbing off. I use xodus thinning oil and thinner. And i know my paints not too thick as ive done about 10 layers and hes still very pale. I geuss ill try the varnish and see how thay goes. I also noticed the paint fades after baking, as in not as dark as it was going into the oven. I didnt have this problem with my last kit so im wondering if its this particular older bb kit?
Did you say yo are using the Winton oils with the Xodus thinning oil? I remember some of the newer Genesis was having cure issues.
