After an aggravating weekend with the Father-in-law (besides belittling me for not wanting to tour plantations, which I’ve done for 12 years in a row in school, and then fighting with his wife at the aquarium…I can see why he’s been through 4 or 5 marriages), I’m finally able to get back to painting.
I’ve done 6 more layers of mottling (2 blue, 2 pinkish purple, 2 blood red…used the pinkish purple in the middle to keep the blue and red from mixing). I’ve also layered up more purple on the eyelids, sides of nose and inner ears…also used the purple to define the fingernails and toenails due to some of them not being sculpted or just got lost in the molding process…then finally started building up her lip color.
I’ve been working on Mathilda all morning. After 8 blue washes, this is what I have. I think I’m going to set her aside, as you can see from her flanges everytime I bake her she gets more and more orange toned. I don’t think her vinyl will color correct at this point.
I’m focusing on Levi this afternoon, I wish I could make a living just painting Levi sculpts. I swear, his vinyl is always perfect, he practically paints himself. I needed a vinyl issue free kit really bad right now and Levi is delivering in a major way
Thank you. I started and almost completed her two years ago, then she sat in a box until recent. I took her out and wasn’t sure if she needed anything, any fixing.
Only thing that catches my eye is the “line” between her lips. If you can make it a tint darker to look like a separation that would help. Same with the eye crease line.
Skin tone wise I wouldn’t add anything.
