What is your least favorite thing about reborning? Mine is color matching vinyl parts from different kits.
Eyebrows are a challenge for me
I personally really dislike the stage I go through with my dolls where they feel like they aren’t fully painted but I can’t figure out what’s missing!
Definitely HANDS ![]()
Creases, boring and tedious
Eyebrows and nails. ![]()
I have a few
painting veins (I just can’t seem to get the hang of them.), putting eyes in on awake sculpts, I’ve been trying to practice painting hair including eyebrows, fighting with trying to get the cable ties to go through the openings.
I 100% agree with Claire, I hate creases the most——probably cause I’m so bad at it!!
Eyebrows and placing eyes. Also, knowing when I’ve painted enough hair so that I don’t make it too thick. Sparse hair is my favorite but hard to do.
Anything doing with weighting, stuffing, zip ties, putting together. And I don’t really care to root anymore.
….and there’s usually so many of them.
Sealing the hair inside the head, gluing magnets, and eyelashes are a pain. Oh and rooting the bottom of the back of the head…such an awkward angle
I dread photography. I just am terrible at it.
I also dread the photoshoot. I don’t like choosing outfits either.
Creases ARE boring…not my favorite either!
I think my least favorite must be painting veins. I want them squiggly and anatomically realistic and not so dark that they don’t look right. I’m finally doing a bit better with them, but I’ve spent years painting veins to have them try to almost disappear when they dry. Getting the right color saturation is hard for me and they are tedious too. Tiny details are important but sure can be aggravating!
Definitely inserting eyes
After reading all the things that you all DON’T like about reborning, I realize there is a ton of things I don’t like. I first thought “creases”, but now I kinda’ wonder why I ever started this hobby, hahahaha!!
(I guess it’s because of the “finished” babies)!!!
When I start a doll I hate building the flesh layers. Very important but it takes so long before you see any progress.
