ISO retro or retro style newborn clothes

Does anyone here make or sell 50’s- ? retro or retro style baby clothes, maybe on Etsy? Looking for dresses, bonnets, booties, maybe sunsuits. Must be affordable and newborn size only. Thanks!

Etsy has lots of vintage infant clothing. Just type that in the search bar.

I did try that, but thought I might be able to give artists here some business over other random strangers. Lol

That’s always good. I’ve gotten some really cute, inexpensive vintage clothes on Etsy. Some were new. It just takes forever to go through all of them to find the gems.

My mom is too old to be sewing for her reborns. She always had simple vintage patterns to make little clothes for baby showers. Back when making clothes was cheaper than buying them new, esp if there was other sewing done, baby clothes could be cobbled out of leftover bits.

Patterns cost as much as finished clothes these days. I don’t do much sewing anymore, either.
So many fabric stores have gone out of business. You can buy it online but I have to feel fabric and yarn.

I technically can sew, but don’t have a sewing machine where I live now, and have little experience following a pattern.
And yes, clothes are so cheap now that even sewing just for a special occasion likely wouldn’t be cheaper to do.

If your on FB, check out some BST groups.
I’m in several and often see vintage baby clothes for great prices.
Boys only all brands resell has a post up now, and most of the items are $8-$12 with shipping included.

There is also the girls version of that same group (change boys to girls in the title rest is the same)

Sounds like it would be a good plan, but I’m one of those rare people who’s not on Facebook. More shockingly, I never have been.

I love the whole vintage/ smocked look. I just got this cute set off of Etsy. You just really have to go through all the items for sell and you’ll find something

I do not know what I will part with yet, but I collect vintage baby clothes and might have some. Are you looking for girl clothes or boys?

You might try Poshmark as well.

I will keep that in mind. What decades are you looking for?

Well, my mom is getting two dolls, but only knows she’s getting one girl. So for sure I need girl’s clothes, but the second doll will go to her in a neutral outfit so she can decide it’s gender later.
Mom loves pink, ruffles, bows, roses. I’m hoping to find dressy stuff (think Sunday best) either from the 50’s to the 80’s or just that style. Need a small white or pink bonnet.
I just don’t know if I’ll need clothes for a boy and a girl or for two girls, so girl clothes now and more shopping later. Lol

I just went back to work this week, but I will get some time this weekend. I had started going through things and organizing. I know I saw a two piece pink baby outfit circa late 50’s early 60’s and a white lace dress both still new with tags. I do not recall the size- though measurements are probably better. The vintage dress I put my Sue Sue in is tagged size 1 year, but modern she is 3-6 months.

Dressing Ever sculpts. Newborn.

I hadn’t thought about there being a size difference for infants clothes with vintage. Thought it was just U.S. womens’ clothes sizes that are wonky.
