So im doing my first craft sale on Nov 12th so im pretty new to the craft sale scene. I have an opportunity to do a craft sale on Dec 2nd, but its outdoors and I live in canada. So it will Probably be pretty cold. I would have to get my own shelter and tables for this one and it costs $50 per vendor. Is this worth it? Also would it even be safe to sell reborns if its cold out?
Hard to say. Is this an annual, well attended show? How much will it cost you for shelter and table in addition to the $50? Just how cold is it likely to be? Will it prevent buyers from going outside to attend? If it’s snowing, will they even try? I live in northern California and wouldn’t want to do an outdoor craft show in December. I hate to be cold. There’s no guarantee you’ll sell enough to cover your expenses. These are all things you need to consider to decide if it’s worth it to you.
First of all I would see who the vendors are at the craft show. If it’s not reborn related and people will not be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars to buy from you, I would not participate in it.
I would try to find doll related shows, not specifically to reborns, but DOLL shows as I think you might have a better chance to sell there.
But it’s fun to participate and put your name out, so why not?
if you decide to go ask your friends maybe they have a foldable table from Costco or big tent that will do the job so you don’t have to invest in them .
I have never sold a reborn at a craft show but I have sold after to people who saw me there. It’s a good way to advertise and 50$ is cheap enough for publicity. Now I don’t know why they do a exterior craft fair this time of year! Be sure that the publicity for it is good enough for bringing a lot of people. Overall it can be a great practice for a future doll show (usually way more expensive (mine is 250$ cad a table).
You also have crocheted items, you can recoup the table price with that.
How many dolls would you bring to a craft sale thats not doll based?
I’ll be taking 3 or 4 to the one I’m doing in December. I only have a 6 foot table.
