I have this body for my Polly Maynard. I feel like the length is okay, but it is so wide not even filled. There are weird flaps of fabric in places.
Does it look odd to you? Or am I just overreacting

I agree with your thoughts, the length looks good. The legs may look a little froggy, it’s hard to tell. But I don’t particularly like the body, basically like you said it looks pretty wide and the back looks like it will be a hunchback. I don’t know how it will look stuffed though, those issues may not be as noticeable… personally I’d just stuff it with some poly-fil and see how it looks then.
I agree. I ordered this body for my Kylie Strydom. I love how it looked. It’s structured but has a cute little belly. And I think Polly needs the front leg load body too since she doesn’t have hips. If this body is too big, they also have a smaller one. But Polly is pretty big isn’t she?
This looks like a BB body. Is it? The neck’s too big, the body’s too fat and the arms are set too far back. She needs a 21-22" 3/4 arm, full front loading leg body. dollsbysandie.com has one by Adrie for $18.90.
I have no idea. It was one of the few not in the original bag, so I’m not positive. I’m definitely getting a new one though
Measuring against my other babies limbs and head, I’d say she’s about 21”
Also, I love the idea of the strips to cover the zip ties
I personally don’t like those strips. You have to sew them down. I tuck the zip ties in so they’re inside the channel and covered by fabric.
I don’t understand those tabs. So I just tuck them in too. I don’t know how they are supposed to work.
Reading the description I thought you wrapped them over and glued down with fabric glue. I may be wrong though
I’ve never seen her before. I love her face!
@RosieCait she’s long SOLE. I’m too ashamed to Admit what I paid for her. But it seems like I always seem to fall for the rare kits haha
Go to my Reborns nursery if you want more rare kits. I have some listed…including Sunny and Mary Ann.
Soooooo I put her on a new body, and I’m starting to think the kit itself is disproportional. I thought the limbs looked nice with the new body, but when I put the head on, it looked wrong. I’d hate to have to make her a cuddle baby and not use the full kit.
I included a pic with the old body for reference. The new body is fully stuffed where the old one was lightly stuffed.
Thoughts?
I think this one is much better but could maybe use another inch or 2 in length and front loading instead of side loading legs. I’m not crazy about full limbs without hips on side loading legs because they stay in that position when you pick them up. But that’s just me.
I think she looks fine on the 2nd body. Dress her and with a diaper on and such she will look right to you I think.
She looks much better in this body. As for proportions….no babies are the same. She’s a big head baby. My 5th child was one of those. We embraced the big head and never considered making him into a cuddle baby. You need to do the same. She’s going to be adorable once you paint her and dress her.
I think it looks much better, but agree with the others that it could use a bit more length. I don’t know if it’s because the legs aren’t really full legs, with slight hip, but the body does look short. It’s not bad looking though, I wouldn’t have commented on it being too short if this post wasn’t specifically about it.
