Is this a knock off kit?

This kit looks familiar but it is obviously being made in that cheap China style. Is this a BB kit?

I’m not sure about the name, but it’s definitely a knock-off. You can usually assume all those fake Chinese ‘reborns’ are made from knock-off sculpts. They don’t make original sculpts.

I don’t recognize it as a B.B. kit but I could be wrong

Actually, there are some Chinese kits that are not knock offs. Dolls By Sandie sells them as “primary” kits with DK #'s. She guarantees they are not stolen sculpts and that they are meet US standards for safety. It seems most of the ones you find on ebay are stolen sculpts though.

But those silicone ones are really cheap and not platinum silicone so they rot and deteriorate.

The ones advertised as silicone vinyl are just soft vinyl. There’s no such thing as silicone vinyl because those two substances don’t bind together. The doll shown is a China kit but not a knockoff.

It does look like the primary kit DK 15 on Dolls by Sandie but it looks “cheaper”. I think NPK makes them… (I could be wrong) but NPK is also known for stealing other kits… such as Victor and Victoria by Sheila Micheals.

I would not buy from them.

When it says “Silicone Vinyl” it’s a knock off. The term “Silicone Vinyl” is usually the give away that it’s from a Chinese seller with a recast mold. They use it to draw in people looking for silicone dolls and vinyl dolls.

From what I’ve heard silicone and vinyl can’t even mix together. These vinyl dolls are just a very soft vinyl but there is no silicone in them.

The German LDC line uses the same term. Those are legitimate kits. The Chinese companies simply copied the term.
Though I believe LDC now uses ‘silicone-like vinyl’.
