Is there a fix for this?

SO on the very last sealer bake my baby’s head fell over and burned a 3/4" long scar on the bottom of his cheek. It didn’t burn through, but melted an indentation that can be felt if you rub your finger across it. I’m super bummed cause he’s the baby I’m making for a fund raiser and have been talking my time with him. Anyway…is there a way to fix this at all, or is he destined for the reborn recycle. I think it may be to long of a scar to try to play it off as a scratch.

These are the only 2 floating heads I have, but I don’t think either one looks proportioned to the body and limbs…thoughts?

I think you could try putting a bit of super sculpey in there, you’d just have to blend the color and bake it to set. It’s worth a shot!

Edit: you could use the “skin” (beige) colored sculpey.
This is the one I have for sculpting:

Or make it a scar? Like he had surgery for something?

I agree with @jlesser

I think I would try filling it in - use LIQUID sculpy mixed with a flesh color that matches as best as ya can mix it up till its like paste apply bond and bake in the crack and then add abit of the paste clay to fill it in -smooth the edges really well -bake at 275 for 10 min -should do it

I think I’ll try the liquid sculpey if I’m able to find it locally. If not I’ll probably have to replace his head and hope I can get the new colors to match …what a nightmare :weary:

@Nikkiroc
Do you know how she fixed it?

You can order it online here I think

Wait and ask @jeanhai. She fixed my Leah… And you would never of known there was an issue! She didn’t use sculpty… I know that much is true! :wink:

I very gently filed it with an Emery board nail file and then blended paint to match. This one looks a little bit deeper. If filing doesn’t work, I’d try the liquid Sculpey. Definitely don’t put it in the recycle bin.

The only problem I see with liquid sculpey is that it’s transparent, so it’d be hard to paint over. I’d try filing or making it a scratch. :slight_smile:

What if some GHSP flesh color was added? can you do that? lol

I also have used 3D thick medium to fill in small flaws. I file it to smooth it, then put sealer on it and paint over it. I’ve never had a problem with the paint not adhering.

I don’t care for either one of these heads on this body, sorry.

I agree. But I can’t help but laugh looking at Kyles head on the body…there’s something seriously wrong going on there. I left it sitting like that and keep passing by it laughing, he reminds me of a baby Alfred Hitchcock lol.
