I have was on facebook and people were arguing if it was ok to use gloves to put weighting material in, what do you think, i personally dont care, as long as youre using proper weighting material

You mean putting the material in the gloves?
As long as they’re clean and don’t disintegrate, I don’t see why not.
I personally sew pouches or use stockings. But everyone has their own way to do things.

I have no problem with using gloves personally however my opinion doesn’t really count much of the time lol but I am here so might as well chime in

Using non-latex gloves to contain finer weighting granules seems like a good idea to me. I tie off partly filled gloves and put them in stockings and use them with no issues. I don’t see a problem with using them. What were they objecting to?

I have seen it posted in the scammers groups on facebook about 5 times now… and I know @JillianJade got some negative comments when she shared that sometimes she uses gloves.
The last one I saw saying they got scammed went from "OMG can you believe this person calls themselves an artist and doesn’t even know what to use inside to weight it, they used a glove instead of the Proper materials like nylons."
Then she got artist feedback of how it was fine… and it changed to but it was full of sand!
Then they asked if she was sure… because fine glass beads have been mistaken for sand before…
Then it was “no it was BEACH sand and it smells” and that is how she knows it wasnt just store bought sand…
Ugh.
Anyways. I personally dont feel like arguing with people of that nature… so I stick to tights/stockings

I hate it when people do that.
They buy reborns, never even looked into how they’re made, and assume they know everything.
I’ve even heard people complain about dolls painted with Genesis. Somehow they thought air dry was superior…

I would think if in your description of what is used to make the doll you included that gloves were what you used, people would be informed and could purchase or not.

Yes, ugh. I also stopped using the gloves. Even though VINYL gloves are perfectly good to use and don’t leak, some people confuse them with latex gloves which break down. Not worth arguing with people who don’t understand science. It’s draining to try to defend it, so if I make one to sell, I use tights.

It is so frustrating when people who dont make these dolls think they know more than the reborn artists do because they see videos on youtube. I use both. I sometimes use stocking and other times I use vinyl gloves. I see nothing wrong with it. I prefer to use the gloves so there are no leaking issues like there sometimes is with stockings.

Yes exactly this. I just don’t trust the stockings by themselves.

This happened with one of my daughters first reborns. I had doubled up the stocking and used BB beads and they ended up leaking. I don’t like to use the stockings now because of it. I mostly use the vinyl gloves but some customers don’t want that and only want stockings.

I usually use queen size stockings so they are long enough to triple but I have used gloves in the head for weighting a few times. You know what they say - you can’t please every body –
