Is it just me? Or what

Rachel, I question whether it actually make any realistic sense to charge folks more because their dolls cost more? I suppose he believes they have more money to spend, I suppose they do. I sell for $325 and under, I have little extra to spend on credits and make anything at all, but to be really honest, is he being fair to those there that charge much more? Maybe there is no way to be ā€œfairā€. Maybe if sales were really good equally for all, I don’t have a following at all, however I don’t think my dolls are bad.
I don’t have the answer to this, but I don’t really believe he does either. He may really be a nice guy just trying to be fair to everyone?
My last day is the 13 th, then I’m out for I don’t know how long

Like I said. Why?

I just can’t justify the subscription anymore when I sell 3-4x faster on eBay and Mercari

I do think this is going to backfire on him. People will realize they’re making less money and having to put in extra work (manually doing all the featuring and showcasing), and move to other platforms. I also enjoy being able to have my business name/watermark in pictures on other sites. It drives people to my business pages, where that isn’t allowed on reborns

@jeanhai no clue as to why if you have higher price you have to use more credits to list…:woman_shrugging:
Or why selling something at a higher price means you need to ā€œcontributeā€ more.

(I would insert a snarky comment here about that…but the anonymous flagger is always lurking :joy:)

I am lucky to be able to finish and sell more than 2 dolls a month, if that, but people who sell more than 2 dolls will end up having to buy credits to list and showcase their dolls…even if they just showcase one doll a day.

So in the end…he does get more money through people buying those extra credits.

Still way cheaper than Ebay or Etsy for me…i have looked at Mercari…but it scares me :flushed:
(Actually Ebay does too lately…cheap fakes everywhere)

Ebay charges a way higher fee…but it is the SAME 14% for all sales, large or small.

Even though it seems unfair to pay more to list a higher priced item…I am in a ā€œwhatcha gonna do?ā€ position.

Unlike @Helenabeereborns …my sales at Ebay slowed drastically in the last few years…where I would get 100 to 150 views per day…it went down to less than 50.

(I get less views than that on reborns…but the people looking are looking to buy…big dif )

If sales on reborns.com is as bad as I have heard some saying on Facebook then I think I might be better off to pay a final value fee rather than a membership fee and then fees to be seen too. At least I will not lose money if I do not sell anything. I have had very good sales on reborns, but for the past three years those sales came from me directing buyers who were already going to buy from me on Facebook to reborns. It was just easy to have a record of my sales by posting them to reborns.com and for the most part I believe I still paid the membership fee even though I could have used my free nursery. I just do not know what is best. However, I have nothing available and will not for several months so maybe it will all be worked out by then.

I don’t think Dave has any idea how much you and many others have done for his site, I really wonder. what his income would be without you folks?

Oh my sales on eBay have 100% dropped. Nothing like they were a few years ago, I was just trying to say that I have better luck selling there than on reborns. At least I only pay if I have a guaranteed sale.

As for Mercari, I actually find it less scary because the buyer has three days to review after item arrives if they don’t in that time, the transaction auto closes. And after that time, they can’t ask for a return or refund. I’ve had issues on other platforms with people asking for refunds after weeks or months. It’s not for everyone, but if that interests you, it’s worth a try. It also has the same program as eBay where you can buy shipping label directly from them

Does Mercari require you to use the app to sell? I’ve never checked it out before. I don’t use my cell phone for much so would not want to use an app on my phone. I use my desktop computer regularly and would want to use that if I ever listed a doll on Mercari. So, wondering if it would work for me on the computer.

You can use a desktop because I have in the past. Good Luck :grinning:
