IRELYN, the CHALLENGE, the ADOPTION - - - - -

I participated in the Irelyn challenge and “she” was adopted even before the challenge ended, but my point is that she was adopted for a woman who has Parkinsons. Today I received a message from the daughter saying how she hasn’t seen her mom this happy in years and that when her mom feels episodes coming on she reaches for Irelyn and how much it helps her. Her doctor saw such improvement in her and questioned it and they were telling him about the reborn. He now wishes to speak to me.

But my main point is - - - - how wonderful it is to know that a doll can bring so much comfort to someone ------

Now that’s a real winner. What a blessing you have been. I am so glad we did the Challenge and had so much fun and now, best of all, you have blessed the life of someone Irelyn has touched. This is the best and most amazing story that I have heard come out of this challenge. Thank you so much for sharing it. It touched my heart.

What a beautiful story. I am in the process of making my grandmother Elsie. She has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and never had a little girl (only 3 boys). I am hoping to see improvement and comfort with her too.

So happy that the buyer took the time to share the impact that your baby has had on her Mom! Let us know what works out with her doctor.

Wow! Great news! Maybe the doctor will set you up with some of his other clients. You never know…

Yes, Pia. We had really good communication and I love when i can “talk” to my customers during the reborning. My heart just feels so good knowing the doctor and the daughter both see a change (for the better) in her.

That’s Fantastic!!

That’s a great story! Happy for you and the recipient.

The healing powers of love!

That is a wonderful outcome to the challenge, as she is such a beautiful Irelyn. It makes ones heart feel good to know that our efforts make someone happy and better.

This is a great story and one that I hope goes far to show others the help and comfort in a reborn! Irelyn is the perfect kit for this purpose.I never considered her but you have showed me she is perfect. I just found out they (people distributing reborns in nursing homes) do not want open mouths or teeth showing. And you did it right the first time!

I have a friend who just finished cancer treatment-chemo and radiation. She said it was very comforting to hold her reborn baby on days when she felt really bad. I wish there were more stories like this out there for the general public.

From what I understand, the therapy dolls for nursing homes should have open eyes, be lighter in weight and have either painted or bald heads. This particular baby I made did not go to a nursing home, but a private residence and I did not weight her too heavy for just that reason… I have been inspired now and think I will try to make a few to take to my local area nursing homes. I am sure the nursing homes would rather the patients’ family purchase the dolls for their individual family member and not have to use a nursing home doll.

I hadn’t realized that babydolls and reborns were being used for Parkinson’s patients, but I do know how well used they are, for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s. I’d love to hear more about what aspects of Parkinson’s they help with. For Dementia patients, they give the patient a “something to focus on, play with and love.” Often dressing and redressing them 100’s of times a day… Real reborns wouldn’t hold up of course, but partially reborn and lightly painted do. Best they be hairless. Isn’t it wonderful to know our passion can help others! I’d also love to hear from anyone who has tried to reborn recycled dolls for such purposes.

Amazing story! It must feel great to know the baby you made is helping someone!
I know for me, reborns help with my anxiety. Sometimes, When I feel really bad, I pick up a reborn and I feel so much better.
