While sometimes I do think people can get carried away with these dolls… I think for most there is no harm done. This video clip was great exposure for that lady lol

She is already really well known, I heard about her before I ever learned of Jackie and Silvia. Maybe because I stay on you tube too much lol.

I enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing. At least they interviewed someone who seemed perfectly sane about what she is doing and not someone who makes the rest of us look like a bunch of nut jobs! And the psychologist’s approach that it’s fine as long as the person remembers reborns are not actual babies was refreshing.
The person who couldn’t handle being next to the doll was probably just a bit overwhelmed with how realistic they look. That’s sort of a back-handed compliment and not uncommon. Some people are put off because the open eyed reborns never blink too. Reborn artists and collectors just have to face the fact that there will always be people out there who think an adult with a doll is a bit off, and they will justify that any way possible!
I kind of wish they had had enough time to get into the fact that they are truly works of art and not toys for children though.

I loved watching that video but I don’t understand why some people get “creeped out” when they see a reborn. Didn’t they ever have baby dolls as a kid that they played with? This is an art and a hobby that I love. Grown men have hobbies such as electric train sets, making model airplanes, collecting super hero figures… etc. No one thinks any thing of a grown man collecting and making toys from their childhood so why is the fact that we have a hobby that we love…collecting and/or making reborns…so different! Life is too short to not enjoy doing something that we love, relaxes us…at least most of the time:smirk: …and brings us joy. Another thing that I want to bring up is look how much joy these reborns bring to the elderly especially for patients with Alzheimer’s. I love my reborns but I know they are not real babies.

@colee1970 Yes like in any other facet of life there are always a few people that get carried away. The only thing that I get carried away with is wanting to buy most of the gorgeous kits that are or soon to be available!! 
@2layz I agree! What really warmed my heart was seeing just how much Dr Travis Stork seemed to enjoy holding the reborn. 
@AmyR777 I did see the Dr Phil show about reborns and yes The Doctors handled this much better then he did. Dr Phil sometimes can be condescending and speaks what he’s thinking not necessarily what the psychological facts of the situations are. The way he sees it all reborn artists and collectors are loony and have deep seated problems from their childhoods. Don’t get me wrong I like Dr Phil but he’s not always spot on with his opinions.
