I said I’d show my eyebrows😢

To say I struggle with eyebrows is an understatement. If I were to charge by the hour these would be million $$ dolls. I re-did Duckin’s paint from months ago, she is much less chalky. I am waited on new eyes because I got glue on the original one. The eye I am using will be like her right dark blue. She has no eyelashes because they are so hard to do. I’m going to try apply before inserting eyes this time.
Sarah is shiny because I haven’t varnished yet. I’ve redone her eyebrows about 12-50 times. As you can see they are aver dark and very bushy, not what I wanted. Duck Lin’s not what I wanted either, but I can’t work on them anymore, sadly I can hardly stand looking at the poor things. They didn’t deserve such harsh treatment. Neither are as dark as they look here

I would suggest using prisma pencils. A dark umber would work for these babies. It is much easier to control and you can erase them if you make a mistake

They aren’t subtle. But I rather like these brows.
Something I do notice, though is that the sculpt on the right looks like it may have some cracking or dust?

Such cute faces! I understand your pain. Your eyebrows are not that bad. I can’t offer advice because I struggle with eyebrows too.

They aren’t as bad as you think. The bad ones look like lllllllll llllllllll or <<<<<<< >>>>>>>>>. Look at pictures of real babies and use a super sharp prisma pencil. Go lightly so you can erase if uou don’t like it. You can paint over top of that if want to.

Eyebrows are my nemesis

I picture you shaking your first and looking up the sky, “Damn you, Eyebrows!” Dramatic storm sounds

I think these brows would be perfect for toddler sized kits. Really great placement and hair-like paint strokes. For babies, I think less is more and it needs to be “barely there” for newborns. I admire your perseverance! I’m also finding it super difficult to do eyebrows!! I think the advice to look at baby pictures is a good one. Good luck!

I’ve tried prisms pencils and I wonder if I need an expensive sharper. Seems they don’t get reall sharp plus continue to break as I try to sharpen it. At that rate I might make 2 thick hairs. I use golden paints, didn’t seem that using varnish before the pencil made much difference.

I draw right on top of the paint. I use an electric sharpener

I couldn’t draw on my paint ghs but could once I varnished but like you I had problems not getting the pencil sharpened enough to make the fine lines I was looking for

I like Sarah’s left eyebrow the best (the one on the right side in the picture). If you paint on a really thin line kind of like this on both sides at first you can get the shape and the placement the same. Once you have that guide where you need it you can start filling them in until they are as thick as you want them and the faint guideline blends in with the brows and isn’t noticeable when you are done. image

I still struggle, it has been a couple years and I have a few babies where I think I may have nailed it (for me). They are hard.

One thing I learned is less is more. Some babies don’t even need them or need very little.

I use a prisma pencil to sketch and use a cut up liner to go over my pencil.

Its just practice, practice, practice, it looks like you are getting there.

I tend to paint the brows on too high for some reason. I have to watch myself.
