I have grant has a boy. I received an email from a 20 year old stating she is interested in him, but she want him as a girl. I responded have you seen the picture of his hair? But, if you want him as a girl, I can send him as a girl. She wants me to dress him as a girl n send her pictures. I don’t wanna waste my time changing his clothes n taking pictures. For her to say, no she don’t Like her. Would you take the time to change his clothes n take pictures? I can’t see him as a girl. Doesn’t mean she won’t see him as a girl.
Change of clothes is not that big of a job to do and if it might result in a sale I would do it in my opinion however I am not someone who sells a lot .
It appears to me unless she has ask you other things to do besides this it would be perhaps worth a little time to make a bit of money.
I think he would work as a girl. He is cute!
Thank you
It’s just that I’ve gotten quite a few questions lately on my posted dolls. Which I responded too, but still no sale. I’m not in need of immediate sales. I just want to get rid of the ones that are sitting around waiting to be adopted.
Yes I see where you would be tired of questions and nothing comes of it however I have a slight problem I always think well maybe this time will be different
Maybe just wrap in a pink blanket and put on a headband and send one pic and see what she says. Don’t let her be a time waster.
Thats it, I don’t wanna waste my time doing it. I work 7 days a week, with only 3 half days off. I gotta find an out fit to dress him in as a girl. What if I had him all packed up n ready to go. Incase he sold. Then I would have to unpack him to change his clothes. I think I’m gonna try a girl hat n blanket. Thanks for the idea.
Yes, I would do it and put a hairband on him and see what she says
That’s what I’d do, just plop a headband on and maybe throw a pink blanket over the clothes if you have to.
I would do it. I have had a lady to ask me that about a baby I thought looked all boy and I told her so but then sent the girl pictures. The lady agreed that the baby did not look good as a girl and still bought him as a boy. So it is not a waste of time because if she bought it as a boy and then tried to change it to a girl and didn’t like it she might want to return it. Seeing it up front can save you hassels down the road.
She should be able to just take some girl clothes and put them up to the monitor to get an idea of what he would look like as a girl.
I usually take pics of babies as boy and girl. That way if someone asks you just have to send pics.
I def would do it. JMO, but a some people have to “see” it to imagine it. as others said a hairbow, or frilly headband, or a hat… she could even wig him if she would like. All part of doing business, JMO
Let us know what happens!
Because the vision comes so easy to me (and probably all other artists, right?), I was shocked to see how many people absolutely have no kind of vision.
This became apparent in real estate. I would find a cheap, ugly house in a fantastic neighborhood and would get excited. As hard as I tried to explain what I saw, some people could only see a garbage dump, only appreciating the beauty when it was all done.
All this to say that most people really can’t visualize like you probably can, so they really do need the pictures. I don’t change clothes though. I do the blanket/headband or blanket/hat method for the ease of it all.
This just happened to me this week. I had someone ask to dress my beautiful Abigail as a boy. I was a bit taken aback because I had total girl in mind when painting her. I put her in blue and was shocked at how good she looked as a boy. I snapped a few quick cell phone photos and sent to her. She bought him. He is supposed to be delivered to her today.
Redressing a baby isn’t really that time consuming. And if it means a sale, go for it!
Makes an adorable girl too
