I need help, I really can’t do hair painting/Drawing, I don’t know why I have so much trouble but all your tips will help! Were your first hair paintings good or kind of average? What have you learned along the way, feel free to share pics!
This was my first reborn and painted hair. Just a bunch of squiggly lines basically. Let’s just say it was not good.
Realistic hair is probably the most difficult part of reborning to master and NOT everyone does it well. Be patient with yourself it’s not easy!! Practice will be your best teacher here!! I’m trying to learn this skill myself!! Not going so well, LOL!!
This is the first one that I drew with Prisma Pencils. It was a head that had originally been rooted and the hair had been removed before I bought the doll and I didn’t want to attempt to reroot it because of all the holes. The most important thing with the Prisma Pencils is to keep the tips really sharp.
Do you seal the head first?
I’ve been practicing prisma hair on my test head. Don’t mind the stained yellow undercast and rooting holes
The blank area has lots of rooting holes so it makes the pencil hard to take to the vinyl
Now I’ll add some darker “thicker” areas and then go back with fine baby hairs around the hair line…
This was my first attempt at prisma hair the head above is my second attempt
I love it. Even the arm is done well.
What color did you use near the elbow?
NikkiScarletti - no I don’t seal the head first. I just draw directly on the painted head, and then texturize and seal it after I’m done with the drawing.
Thank you.
Nice flow of hair! (Arm scary ) lol
Thank you so much I used Sandbar Brown, Dark Umber, and Sepia on the top part by the elbow and I used Prisma Verithin in black on the other parts.
Thank you
