I Hate String Ties!

I hate when bodies come with string ties. I know you can switch them for zip ties, but the channel you put them in is never wide enough to get the head of the zip tie inside it. It’s harder to get the right tightness, too.

Me to i was setting my Lola together and the head of the zipp did not fit in
It take so mutch time to do it right  and at the end i do not have patience anymore

The tiny ones with the metal clip fit inside the channel for me…

You can get them in but it takes a lot of work on some of them. I have struggled before too. I gave up one time and just cut a piece of doe suede I had here and glued it over the head.

I actually get the string ties bodies on purpose. When assembling I use the string ties first. Then leave the doll for a couple of days, picking it up every once in a while and adjusting the weight to my liking. I swap them out for zip ties once I am sure I like the weight. Never had an issue with the channels being too narrow, though.

Yes, the zip ties fit fine but the heads are what is hard to get inside of some of the channels to hide them.

I have also noticed that the 19" body in the string tie version is much slimmer than the same body in the zip tie version. 1458 I think was the number vs 3650. I still have some of both here and I find the string tie one only looks good on the 18 inch babies to me.
